I've been looking at doing a trip to the Amazon, and I had a trip all picked out through G.A.P. Adventures where I would go the whole length of the Amazon on their ship, the Explorer. It was originally planned for this November, but their Amazon trip wasn't scheduled for November, and then they ended up eliminating that particular trip, so I had to abandon it.

However, the trip that that ship does undertake now is an Antarctic cruise. Apparently, the ship hit ice today and sank. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21935099/

If I had decided to take that trip, and I had decided to do their Antarctic cruise instead of their Amazon cruise, and if I had gone in November as planned, and if the ship had gone down faster and everyone hadn't been saved, I could have died!

I guess that's what I get for living life on the edge.

Glad to see you are safe...life is just a series of sliding doors.

wasn't there another ship that hit an iceburg somewhere?

You're probably thinking of the Lusitania.

You probably wouldn't have died, but you easily could've put an eye out.

I would have pushed aside the women and children. I figure there's a reason that they're smaller.
