Now. Game just starting vs Hawaii. Supposed to be one of the best LT's in college, and his name has been linked to us in several mock drafts already. His number is 79.

Just watched the first couple of plays. The dude is big, and looks very moble as well. Could be something here! :toast:

Baker will be available much later. He may be the 3rd or 4th tackle taken.

Name recognition only gets you so far (with fans, basically). He isn't the highly-regarded pro prospect some seem to think.

I'll be disappointed if the Chiefs take him with a top-ten pick.

Baker is only dropping because he's been injured this year, he had a slight tear of his hamstring...

He sure looks like he can protect Croyles blind side though. He looks to have very quick feet. Dude is huge. Looks like a Willie Roaf that is about 20 years old.

You should pull up that one thread.....the poster maddog doesn't think Andre Woodson is any good.....and told me he'd have to be a WR or CB to make it in the NFL....and acted like I was the stupid one for asking him if he was nuts..

He'll drop on draft day, a bunch of people even here didn't think he should be playing due to some off the field issues he has.

Guilty of assault, DUI, and 2 other misdemeanor charges - his punishment:

1 game suspension
------------------------------

Depends I guess, I think he's a first day talent....Actually scratch that, he could be one...

His numbers have to improve at workouts, I just checked it out..he's ranked 21st among senior recievers 6'4 220..4.65 40....he'll have to get faster and answer questions about off the field issues or he's going 2nd day.

I was completely underwhemed by CLady's play last night. He seemed to have horrible technique in pass blocking, and in run blocking didn't look dominant AT ALL.
Now, I didn't watch every snap, but quite a few in the second half.... and I just didn't see the hype at all.

Question about Woodson, that I've asked a couple of times...
Has anyone brought up his weird throwing motion (scout-wise)? He seems to have the slowest windup, with a weird hitch.

Not a good run-blocker at all. Never has been.

Definitely the main reason I like Oher and Loadholt - two mammoths who destroy people in the running game. Loadholt sometimes reminds me of Willie Roaf with the way he locks on to a DE and just DRIVES him out of a play.

No he doesn't. He just has the stats. He wouldn't be much of a prospect at all if he was playing in a pro-style offense in a big conference. Could you imagine him having to actually drop back from under center and read a defense? And there were only two routes in the pattern? It'd be ugly.

CupidStunt

Cherilus doesn't look like a natural. He gets decent enough leverage in the running game but isn't dominating, and in the passing game he's very stiff. I don't think this kid is worth our top-15 pick.

I was being a bit sarcastic, I realize his injury this year has dropped him out of the top 10, unless he has some awesome workout.

I honestly might look at something other than Oline if it's a top 10 pick, at that pick and the depth they'll be starting OT's in the 2nd round.

We are "back to" Sam Baker? Because Cherilus and Clady are overrated? Perhaps true if this class didn't have so many other talents like Oher and even Loadholt, although my guess is that he'll need an insane offseason to get that far up (only due to lack of experience).
