If there is anyone out there who has experience with wireless speakers please let me know.
The wife has mentioned that she would like to have that option. I am sure she would like to have a set of speakers in the bedroom, living room, bathroom and who knows where else.
What would it take to start getting this setup and started.
Thanks in advance.

If you are just putting them in your home i'd look in to wiring them yourself, and getting wired speakers. You can set up different zones so you can have different music playing in different areas of the house, and have volume controls on the walls and such.
I researched this topic a bit a few months back when looking for options to setup my surround sound. I didn't want to have to run the wires myself. I ended up doing that though, because everything I read about wireless setups was bad (unless you can go super-expensive).

I had a little Samsung wireless rear speaker setup. It worked alot better than I expected. All I heard were bad things about wireless. It worked perfectly for me.

Your problem is gonna be crappy amplification. The wires aren't just carrying the sound, they're carrying wattage. If you just want background ambiance you might be able to find something suitable. If you really want to avoid lots of wiring, I'd suggest looking into FM getting an FM transmitter for the source [like you get on aftermarket trunk CD players or Satellite Radio units], and setting up another receiver/amp that has an FM tuner for the secondary location.
