I suppose you are talking about all the new HD channels, of which, many have already rolled out.

You will need a 5 LNB dish as well as a receiver capable of decoding mpeg 4 and a little device called a b-band converter.

all you do is have to call direct tv. They gave me the dish and the receiver for 20 bucks. That 20 bucks was the shipping fee.

What receiver do you currently have?

The H-10's will be able to pick up about 10 of the HD channels, the H20's and up w/ the 5 LNB dish can receive all of the new programming.

The only thing I could imagine you're thinking about is the FCC switch to all-digital content, which won't happen until 2009.

Maybe they haven't been pushing that back, but it feels like they have.

Well technically this is the "Media" forum. And TV is very much a media.
