If the Chiefs make this trade, I am done watching football. Just done! Done like dinner...All faith in this franchise would be lost. Especially if the Chiefs are drafting at #3, and you have a prospect like Dorsey or Long in the mix? And the Chiefs traded their draft pick away? That would be the dumbest move ever...No too many people are that dumb to make that kinda trade. Unless, they offered us multiple picks, high draft choices, then I'd consider.

Which one of those castoffs would play left tackle? Oh, and I heard that KC was sending Surtain and Wesley to the Jets for their 1st and 2nd round picks. The trade can't happen right now, but there is an under-the-table deal that includes Herm returning to the Jets.

I sure the H E double hockey stick don't want Pennington. It would be stupid to to trade any round for him cus he is going to get cut anyways. Jets can hold him through the draft like waving a carrot in front of a willing team, Carl & Herm are stupid they may take the bait. Just saying that if no trade is made Jets will probly cut Chad after the draft.

Coles is decent but not worth a first round pick, Pennington is too injury prone, too small, too weak of an arm. He'd die behind our OL and I would do nothing for us.

Keep the picks, get a free agent lineman or two, draft a couple, draft a wr, some cb's, a qb, I don't care but don't waste a top 6 pick on Pennington, I'd go crazy.

I've been telling one of friends for the last two months that I wouldn't be shocked if Chad Pennington was with the Chiefs next year. Herm loved Chad for the fact that he liked the way he managed games. It also fits Carl's track record of bringing in retread QB's. I'm not saying I like the idea of it. It just wouldn't be a shock.

But as a Jet fan, I would give you our first round pick if you'd just take Chad Pennington from us.

The worst part is, you'd have dozens of Marshall fans that would be coming over here telling you how great Chad is while he throws pick sixes left and right and can't complete a pass more than 6 yards down field.

Just wondering, how is LT D'Brickashaw doing? Is he holding up at LT what you expect him to be?

D'Brick has been inconsistent...

If he was a mid-round guy, I'd love him...

Unfortunately, for the 4th overall pick he's been a bit disappointing.

You have to give him credit because he's started at LT from day one, played every game, and been solid. However, some games, he's gotten roughed up pretty good... However, at times, he's dominated some great competition.

My concern is his size... he floats at around 300 and has been known to drop below. He gets overpowered and not great push in the running game.

Part of the problem is that he is playing next to Adrian Clarke who is easily the worst starting LG in football and the only man who could make you miss Pete Kendall, who was servicable at best. Tannenbaum really screwed us on thatone.

Solice comes from the fact that he's only 23, and hopefully will be able to put on weight... also very few guys come out and play well at LT right off the bat. McNeil regressing makes me feel better about him... Joe Thomas being a borderline probowler makes me feel worse...

Spermy...what are the feelings on Mangina?

Sperminator
12-24-2007, 09:20 AM
Spermy...what are the feelings on Mangina?

I'll start with Spygate: I think he did what he had to do. Darrelle Revis, our rookie corner (love him) came out and said the most mature and insightful thing on the whole situation. Paraphrasing: "What if the players found out that Eric knew the Patriots were spying on us and he did nothing? How could we ever trust him". Your allegance is to your own team, and from what I understand he told BB to knock it off or we'll report you, BB decided not to heed that warning.

Offseasn: Underwhelming free agencies in the early BB mold. I absolutely hate bringing in Pats rejects. We're not going to overtake them by scooping up their trash. I loved the draft too. Revis has been the best rookie corner by a large margin. Still has some minor technique issues, but shut out Moss and all but shut out TO. Harris has been a beast, better by a large margin than Vilma, and had he started the whole season he'd be heads and shoulders above Willis in every statistical category. It's too bad b/c he's had DROY written all over him since he came in. Likely wont happen though.

On the season: I'm not letting him off the hook, but I'm not ready to throw him under the bus just yet. I condemn him more for this offseason and it's partially the GM, but not addressing the offensive lines more agressively hurt us bigtime. (That's a Herm specialty as you see). With that being said, I think we are a bad, bad football team. I think it's to Mangini's credit that with the exception of Pats and the Cowboys, we've been in every game. After the Pats, and until the Cowboys I'm pretty sure we were winning, or tied at the end of every 3rd Quarter. Our horrible Oline with a big factor in not being able to generate 1st downs late in the game to control the clock. All that said, some of this falls on the coach, and he's certainly no mangenius. I do believe he has a plan, and I see a team that has a much worse record this year, but actually more talent. Which brings me to -

Last Season: An aberation, and a product of a soft schedule. Last year, we won a lot of close games... this year, we lost a lot of close games. My fear is perhaps Mangini and Tannenbaum got a little cocky and didn't think the team was quite as talent depleted as it was. That perhaps they could go into the season with Adrian Clarke at LG and Anthony Clement at RT.

I particularly enjoyed how the writer starts getting all specific with what's involved..."we've also learned that in addition to the first rounder the Jets will receive a fourth rounder, a second rounder next year, and a bag of White Castles..."

This is beyond laughable. Chad Pennington is worth maybe a 7th rounder and Coles is on IR and probably worth a fourth at most.
