And please note the "for Arrowhead"

And I say that because I love natural grass.. in Florida.

But here in the Midwest, it sucks. That field is embarrassing. When are they going to finally replace that with field turf? The field looks like crap and it's routine for players to be slipping and falling all over themselves in December.

IMO, it hurts the entertainment product on the field.

So where do you stand?

Field turf. I Agree.

Isnt the field basically paint with a few blades of dormant Bermuda this time of year??

Usually I would say grass, but our field is so shitty that it would be smarter to go with field turf.

We need another George Toma and real grass.

How about hire a better grounds crew and get all the damn soccer and college games out of the stadium.

Field turf. It's easier to maintain (duh) and makes for better football.

Now, that doesn't mean I believe in throwing out weather as a factor. I think the Super Bowl should be played in the cold. But shitty grass is fun for no-one.

I played on both and prefer field turf. Its more econmical for the Chiefs and the stadium in the long run.

If you aren't going to get better people to work the field and make it at least passable then yank that s**t out and put in field turf. That s**t they have now is an embarrassment.

Of course it is pretty fitting given the state of the entire franchise. A deep layer of s**t with some spray paint covering some of it.

Well, we'd probably have more luck kicking the ball if we had field turf, wouldn't we?

Grass, football is meant to be played outdoors in the elements... and GRASS IS ELEMENTAL!!!!

Yeah but you're forgetting that isn't grass.

It's a spray painted dirt pad and it's unacceptable for an NFL franchise.

I've seen intramural flag football fields in better condition.

I'm thinking it really doesn't make much difference for this squad.

Tonight's game is an example of why-- regardless of the claims that field turf is safe -- I detest any kind of artificial surface. I'm not sure why Wille Parker broke his leg. It looked kind of freakish. The hit didn't look that bad. Seems like we had a game last year or the year before where we had like 3 to 5 guys that went down on that stuff.

Arrowhead started with astroturf then went to grass. Grass is always preffered but when your down to a choice of dirt or field turf, I'd take the field turf.

Grass and Arrowhead just go together. Especially in December.

Originally we had Astroturf. Then a radio statio posted a April Fools joke that Arrowhead would have grass and the story took off.

I remember the first day I saw the turf. It was amazing. Back then we had a guy named George Toma who was the Joe Montanan of Green Thumbs.

They would fly him into other stadiums to fix their turf when the playoffs started.

Then, we let soccer players ruin our field and the field crew must have changed hands because we now paint our dirt during the winter as needed.

One team actually sent us a bill to replace their unies because of our green paint.

Meanwhile field turf has replaced astro. Why not?
