View Full Version : Does Svitek have a chance of being the answer at RT?

I was completely shocked with the way he played today. He handled a very athletic pass rusher pretty well.

He could be a serviceable backup to fill in when the starter needs a break. I just don't see him panning out as a full time starter.

Titans players are blaming the lack of footing on the slick field for not getting any sacks, as failing to get even 1 against our line is probably an affront to all their manhoods.

I think this answers the question about grass or turf. Keep the grass.

I guess that would be a valid excuse had our D-line not raped their Oline a few times.

He had a lot of 'help' from Jason Dunn today.

He has the physical attributes to be a god damned road grader.

with Jake Long and Turk at center
things will go smoother

If Svitek is able to play RT effectively, what do we do with McIntosh next year? Move him to RG?

Chris Bober needs replaced

I don't see us drafting a left tackle, and McIntosh is not a guard. I've seen you suggest it several times now. Please stop.

Having too many decent lineman is a good problem to have.

There are a lot of what if's that must happen for your situation to take place.

The team drafts a LT that is in camp and capable of playing right away.
Svitek has to have more than one decent game.

I think he's a swing/depth player at best.

If he's our starter next year, I think the Chiefs oline is still in trouble.

Big trouble

Didn't he play more guard than tackle at Miami? The consensus is that we are drafting a LT. If we do, what happens to McIntosh?

I'm sure the Chiefs start Svitek and a rookie and look to shuffle McIntosh inside.

Until proven otherwise, its 1 game, Crampson came in & looked pretty good for awhile to...but he did look much better RT than left.

Tell that to the draft a LT at all cost crowd. What happens with M?

No, not at all.

The consensus is not that we are drafting a LT. There's no clear consensus right now.

Since there is no true left tackle in this draft, I'm fine with McIntosh for another year until we find one.

It's only one game, not to mention that Svitek has injury issues, for whatever reason.

Perhaps he may be worthy of being kept around for depth, but if he were to start next year, I think the line will be no improvement from what we saw this year.

My point is - If a true LT is picked and signed early enough to get in to camp, and is good enough to replace McIntosh right away, the coaches will move McIntosh to RT and Svitek is the odd man out.

Your question should be - What happens with S?

I'm not suggesting we go into the season blindly with Svitek, BTW. I still want a tackle drafted in the second round.

Assuming some of the underclassmen stay in school, next year could see several elite tackles in the draft.

Oher, Loadholt, etc..

Take a RT in the second round and a LT next year.

We said that last year about this year's tackle class.

Everyone here was f*cking pissed when Jake Long and Baker stayed in school.

Loadholt is a mountain of an LT.

And going back has made those 2 not as good as they were once thought of as being.....more is now known.

Actually what about McIntosh to RT and Svitek to RG if we do draft / get a LT in FA?

I don't think McIntosh is a good enough run blocker to play right tackle.
