You hear the song every holiday season- the one about the boy waiting in line to buy shoes as a Christmas present for his dying mother. How does it make you feel? Hate it? Love it? Do you get teary-eyed? Or do you gag and turn it off as quickly as possible?
discuss. And remember- real men aren't afraid to cry. :deevee:

I tend to be sensitive to such topics but this song didn't do anything for me
I confess...it does put a lump in my throat.

I just heard it the other day, as far as I knew, I'd never heard it before.

I heard Faith Hill sing it once, and it gave me a lump in my pants. Does that count?

yeah, you've heard that song, Butterfly Kisses, right? It's like they've cornered the market on sappy songs whose aim is to make people cry.

Oh, man...don't make me think of that song. I have two young daughters and I can't listen to that song. That and "There Goes My Life" by Kenny Chesney. I guess I'm a sap.
Do they cry a lot?
I've never seen them cry. Do you cry a lot?

I'm with you on "There Goes My Life" but "Butterfly Kisses" and "Christmas Shoes" are no-so-finely aged cheese.

Y'know, those songs come on and you get to listening, and then I get choked up... which is why now when those songs hit the air and I'm riding around by myself, I go back to metal quick.
If the wife's in the car, yeah, I'll leave it on. SHe loves that sentimental crap. And she gets to see me be a sensitive guy. By myself, I don't need some kind of emotional chain-yanking. I got enough people in my life pulling that stuff anyway.
I've never seen them cry. Do you cry a lot?
Sometimes.
