I hope your joking? At the very least, hes going to be made a scapegoat by Herm.

It's a nice fantasy. I think Gunther is tied to Herm's hip, though.

Cool, we're mediocre.

Canning Solari is easy.

Gun is a test of how serious this franchise is about rebuilding.

The best you can say about his 4 years here is "mediocre." I'd say something much worse...

He is exhibit A of the type of inbred mediocrity that needs to be purged.

If Herm keeps him it will tell me one of two things:

Herm is dumb

or

Herm is a foot shuffling porter for Carl

Well at least they are still top ten against the pass, because they can't stop the run. But Herm is right, it is still the strength of the team. :#

That would be a start. Drop Herm down to DC and get a real HC.

The pass defense sucks, too. The Broncos did whatever they wanted.

No. Drop both Gunther and Herm. Get a REAL HC with a REAL OC and a REAL DC.

IMO, the reason our pass d looks good and our run d looks bad is because teams usually have the lead against us (stop passing and run out the clock).

The fastest/best way for our D to improve is if they are on the sideline and that can happen with a good running game and keeping a lead on opponents.

the best way for our D to improve is get some players with actual talent, and then get a DC who doesn't blow donkeys...

or you could just blame the offense...

I meant that as a joke. I truly think the pass defense is most broke. We need some new CBs, bad.

No. Drop both Gunther and Herm. Get a REAL HC with a REAL OC and a REAL DC.
That would be a dream come true. But I am a Chiefs fan, so I am hesitant to dream that big.

What's the point keeping the head coach if he's going to fire all 3 coordinators?

The D is no better right now than it was in 2005. That's sad considering all the additional talent and players added to the team on that side of the ball.

We have melted down in the second half of every game for the last seven weeks.... That's a lack of coaching no doubt.........I think I'll go puke now...! RALPH!

Now that Herm has fixed the offense, he'll turn his attention fully to the defense. He can't fix them both completely in the same year.

Lack of coaching? Haven't you been reading the papers and listening to the radio? It's not a lack of coaching. It's really all Dick Vermeils fault we keep getting our asses handed to us in the second half. Our current coaches have done nothing wrong. Everything can be explained away by putting the blame on others.

They only people I've heard say that are idiots from message boards. I don't think anybody with half a brain could pin the blame on one part of the team. Everybody on the team from the GM down has a slice in this giant shit pie.

one of the reasons our run defense is so bad though is because teams have been beating us then just running out the clock. the chiefs are allowing 4.3 yards per carry but so are the patriots. im just saying if we had an offense you would be seeing the pass defense somewhere around 16th in the league not 8th. and the rush defense would be around 16th as well. yeah its not great or anything, but if the offense was better it would make the defense look better

You haven't been listening to local k.c. radio then have you? Or reading the articles that have been posted here from the local k.c. print?

BTW there have been 404 rush attempts against the chiefs and only 319 vs the patriots. and the pats rush defense is much better than KC but if you look at the YPC its exactly the same...the pats only look better because they have an offense

KC is smack dab in the middle of the league for TOP. They are at 29:59. It's probably their best offensive stat.

Are you serious? Find me one quote from any local KC talking head that states that Vermeil is to blame for the second half drop-off this year and that present coaches are excluded from blame. Hell, find a quote from any established sports analyst saying this.

Vermeil has some blame in the overall direction of the franchise, but nobody is saying it's his fault and his alone.

But wait... I thought Herm was doing an "incredible job" with the defense... as a certain Wargarbage Illustrated propagandist contends
