View Full Version : Will DBOWE reach 1,000 yards receiving?

Two games left, currently at 885 yards.

On the year he has 61 receptions, 885 yards and 4TDs. Pretty darn impressive already, IMO.

He only needs one big game 100+ and he will get the rest of the yards the next game. It would be pretty cool if he did.

I'll say yes. The Lions pass D is 31st in the league.

He probably would be, but he's far exceeded my expectations for him. What will be interesting to watch is his progress after complete offseason and training camp participation coupled with timing work w/ Brodie.

great season for a rook on a crap team

The iconic 1,000+ yard season would be really good for Bowe. 998 just doesn't sound as good.

60 measly yards per game ... but that's hardly something to sneeze at in this garbage offense.

It's amazing he's gotten those stats with the "QB's" we have

same goes to Tony G...Tony should be over the 1,000 yard mark again this year. its amazing we have 2 1,000 yard receivers possibly on this piss poor offense. i think that means we have no other receiving talent then thoes two players. even when Trent Green had all thoughs 4,000 yard seasons he spread the ball around and the yards werent always lop-sided like that.

Bowe is first among rookie Wrs in

catches by 16
yards 220

and has the most 20+ yard catches...12

Bowe will get better too, he just needs to lose the dropsies habit but you can't ask for a better season from a rookie WR.

I think when he gets one QB for the preseason and all practices he'll hang on just fine. Going from Hutard's limp-wristed crap to Croyle's over-anxious lasers is kind of a hard transition.

just think, if kennison wouldn't have gotten hurt, he wouldn't have 1/2 those yards and catches...

i know, i know, herm will play young players, but i don't think bowe sees the field nearly as much if kennison doesn't pull up lame on the first offensive play of the year.

Chief Faithful

He would already have it if he didn't drop so many balls. If DBowe works on his hands and he and Brodie work on their timing the Chiefs have something real special going for the future.

I voted no, not because I think little of Bowe, but I don't think the offensive line is going to allow Croyle to get time to pass to Bowe. Secondly Defenses are now game planning for D-Bowe, so that will also make a difference.

Better start getting used to being double and triple teamed.....I agree though that an offseason with the offical starting QB will help him get ready for next season. Also I think he needs to get used to cold weather playing. He'll be playing in the cold alot more than he did when he was at LSU.

If you count his drops he would have already surpassed 1000yds. He should give Fred Biletnikoff a call this off season.

Nice to have a bright spot on this team, especially a rookie. Adrian Peterson is probably ROTY, but Bowe has been pretty damn good. Bright future for us, Croyle to Bowe...pending the improvements on the O-line of course...

Didn't Kennison and TG have more then 1,000 yards in the same year with Green?

2004:
Gonzo - 1258
Kennison - 1086
Worm - 795

2005:
Kennison - 1102
Gonzo - 905

I don't see him getting to 1000 unfortunately. He's dropped his fair share of catches that didn't help. And with the O line and QB's we have, he is lucky to have the yards he does.

TD or two. 100+ yards. Go Bowe

Since he is so close, they will feed him the ball just so the coaches/front office has something to hang their hats on.

Good point, I fully expect the Chiefs to be playing from behind the whole game. This may lead to a big game for Bowe. He could pass 1000 yards this week.

Chiefs fans are impossible.

I think he'll get his grand though.

If the Chiefs are prepared to throw as much as they did against the Titans, they better f**king do the same against Detroit, no matter WHERE the game is being played.

They kept Haynesworth and Vanden Bosch away from Croyle for the most part, so they should be able to do the same against Rogers and Dewayne fuggin' White. Definitely in the second half, anyway, when Rogers is sucking wind on the sideline 25 outta 30 snaps.

wait, our coaching staff......

I still think d-bo will get there.

I don't know why Croyle didn't throw it to him more on Sundays game. They were consistantly triple teaming Tony G. and yet Croyle was trying to force it in. All rookies are going to have drops but you got to keep feeding it to them. Isn't that Einstein Herm's philosophy? Doesn't even follow the BS that spews out of his own pea sized brain.

He'll get it, 115 yards is very possible over the next 2 games...it seems like Brodie looks to him as much or more than he does Gonzo.

All this guy has to do, is stay focused on football, keep going home to Grandma & he'll be a Pro-Bowler...no doubt in my mind...he sports a rock solid yards per. average in a neutered O, makes tough catches & is very elusive for a big WR...those quick-outs/screens to him are $$$.

I've been waiting for a QB/WR combo like this for long time...

I hope he does, but not if it means us winning another game this year. I've never in my life honestly rooted for the Chiefs to lose, this is rough. Who gives a shit about beating Detroit and the Jets. The last game of the year for me was Denver. That went well.

He had more than a couple of drops in his last game alone. That is unless you have some unconventional definition of a 'couple'.

I really like DBowe and feel he was a steal in the late first round of the draft. The drops have been more than a few, but I believe it is an issue of concentration that will improve as he gets more comfortable in the offense. Players talk about how the game slows down after a couple seasons. When that happens for DBowe I believe the drops will stop. The guy has proved he has the hands.

I can understand that about Detroit, but how can you feel that way about the Jets after the crap the BB fans brought to the planet after the hiring of Herm? I have been looking forward to the Chiefs beating the Jets and their Mangina since the beginning of the season.

Cute.

Again, this isn't a situation where he's dropping multiple balls unforced.
Does happen though. Just as it's happened with Tony Gonzalez all season.

He'll get 3 catches for 17 yards against the Jets now. You just know it will happen.
