I've got one of the 5-disc collector sets on hold at the local Deep Discount, but since it's technically a Christmas present from my wife, I won't be able to watch it until next week.

Unless I can figure out a way to open it without messing up the packaging.

Its been playing here at one of the local theaters in San Antonio for the past few weeks. Would love to have seen it on the big screen but probably wont have time.

Doesnt the box set come out today?? I heard it has like 5 different versions.

The DVD comes out today. one looks like Deckards metal briefcase with every cut of the movie (I think) a flying car model and other crap. Looks really coolhttp://www.uncrate.com/men/images/2007/07/blade-runner-final-cut.jpg Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/Blade-Runner-Five-Disc-Ultimate-Collectors/dp/B000K15VSA/aref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_k2a_1_img?pf_rd_p=304485601&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-2&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B000UD0ESA&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=1D5EPVJX0CT392CZNSEY)

Its funny how this flicks reputation has grown over the years.

I remember it being a critical and commercial flop at the time.

I remember my parents went to see it in the summer of 82 ( i was only 11 at the time). They came home and told me they fell asleep. LOL

I went on vacation to Branson with my Dad and Step mom Blade Runner, ET were both showing we ended up seeing ET. Couple of weeks later we went to see Blade Runner at the Boulevard Drive in in KC KS. I was 11 as well.
Remember not liking it when I was that young. Liked the way it looked but didn't really get the message then.

Summer of 82 is like a film geek landmark. So many classic flicks.

One of my all-time favorites. Great cast. Great effects, a very interesting vision. Rutger Hauer's best role ever.

I never got into this film at all. I have tried to watch it several times and it just does not grab me.

That's the one I got. Didn't care about all the extra bullshit, but I wanted the five disc set, and that's the only way to get it.

Unfortunately, there is no way I can cut through the outer plastic wrapping without making it obvious. So I guess I'm waiting until Christmas to watch it.
