In a game of Madden I just finished he threw for 338 yards and 4 touchdowns for a passer rating of 135.8. He's my starter because Marc Bulger is out for the season. Then again, he did have TO and this year's #1 overall draft pick (acquired in a trade) to throw to. And he had Shields and Roaf blocking for him. And LJ didn't suck. And I was calling the plays, not Herm.

Aw crap, of course he'd be a disaster.

I once created a player in my likeness and ran for 600 yards and 7 touchdowns.

basing players on video games isn't really my cup of tea :D

Ya'll shouldn't be so quick to judge. Gunther was fooling around with Kendrell Bell on Madden 2005 and came to the conclusion he should be a Chief.

Unfortunately he didn't realize until after the fact that he was playing on rookie mode.

When Herm came in he bumped up the sliders to All-Madden.

Hell yeah..

I'm really hoping we can steal Rex Grossman away from the Bears..or Kyle Orton.

That would be so sweet.

I actually see potential in Orton, in the right place he could be a viable #2 QB IMO...he'd be a good youthful push for Brodie & could possibly represent a solid, long term backup.

He's not the most skilled guy, but his demeanor is always right...he never looks wide-eyed out there. A Stan Humphries kinda guy.

Practice notes: Chad less than thrilled with QB battle
This is what you’ve been waiting for - some real football. Well, as real as it gets in May.

The Jets conducted their third OTA practice today at Hofstra, the first session that was open to the media. Here’s what you need to know:

• In the ballyhooed QB battle, Chad Pennington worked exclusively with the first-team offense. What can we read into that? Not much. Pennington and Kellen Clemens are alternating days, and today was Pennington’s turn. Before the first practice, offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer flipped a coin. Pennington called heads, and heads it was. So he went into the leadoff position.

So now you’re probably thinking, “Who performed better today, Pennington or Clemens?” I’d give a slight edge to Pennington, but he got to work with the starters, which always helps. They’re probably less than 5% into the competition, so there’s no way to declare a winner, preconceived thoughts notwithstanding.

We talked to Pennington after practice and he seemed - how shall I put this? - not thrilled with his situation, but willing to be the good soldier for another year. My gut feeling: He wanted out, but the club refused to trade him. In fact, he confirmed a Daily News story from March, which said his agent and the Jets had discussions at the scouting combine about a possible trade.

Wesley for Pennington.

Serious question, though: Would you rather have Huard or Pennington as a backup for Croyle?

Wesley for Pennington.

I'd rather give Wesley to the Donks for free. Pennington has negative value.

Come on. He's not that bad. For a couple of years, he was pretty dang good, actually.

He's just good enought to trick Herm into giving up on developing any young QB and just sticking with Chud for three or four years. I don't want him any where near the Chiefs.

:thumb: No argument here. Wasn't thinking about it from that angle. I just assumed he'd be a backup, but it's the off-season and I'm not in typical Chiefs mindset.

He'd be a solid vet b/u if we could sign him cheap.

No trades, not decent $, just an insurance policy ...

QFT - I was so worried we'd do something stupid, and trade for him or something. And then, I was actually a little worried he'd be a June 1 cut, and we'd sign him, but I'm glad to hear he's battling for the starting spot. Maybe they're not as down on him as was reported last year.

If Pennington was just the backup, I would be all for it. But like cdcox said, not with this organization.
