Does anyone know when Alex Gibbs left the Broncos? I think he quit. I'm not sure ifhe quit 2005 or 2006.

Gibbs was the Broncos zone blocking coach. One of his famous tactics was cut blocking. I wondering if that's the reason the team's pass protection sucks.

Wow. Denver's defense is pathetic.

I found this article on Alex Gibbs.

It is the winter after his first season as Broncos coach and Mike Shanahan is troubled. His running game is not as dominant as he would like, with too many negative plays. And he's concerned that the finesse aspects of his West Coast offense are not projecting the image he desires for his team. So he and Alex Gibbs, his offensive line coach and friend, devise something uniquely their own--a curiously different run approach that calls for zone blocking built on a foundation of toughness and physicality.

The Giants have a ton of depth at the running back position. There is no doubt that Kawika Mitchell and FB Madison Hedgecock were the best offseason moves the Giants made.

I'm sure many are upset about Eli's performance. However, the pass protection is terrible. While Eli has not been sacked a large number of times, he is constantly pushed out of the pocket. The problem lies with the tackles -- David Diehl and Kareem McKenzie. Although Eli is not getting sacked, Diehl and McKenzie are pushed back into Eli on almost every play -- forcing him to make hurried throws or move out of the pocket.

The best improvement is newcomer and defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo. To think about what he has done to the Giants defense in just one season is almost amazing. This unit was not good a year ago. He has put together an excellent blitz package that is unpredictable just like his former employer Jim Johnson and the Philadelphia Eagles. The Giants defensive players are coming from all angles along with defensive linemen, creating mass confusion for QB's and offensive linemen. The results speak for themselves when it comes to the amount of sacks the Giants have this season.

The Giants still have a ways to go before they are considered a good team. But they are young. One thing canít be disputed about the Giants under Coughlin -- they go out and play hard for him every week.

Last season - with all that was said about Coughlin and his lack of control over the team was disappointing. It seemed like all the sports media wanted to talk about after a game, was when Coughlin would be officially fired. The Giants were labeled as a team that disliked its coach. At the end of last season, John Mara asked every veteran whether or not they wanted to play for Coughlin? They all came out to support him. Funny how the media skipped over that incident like it never happened.

Coughnlin's biggest hurdle is with Manning. The front office wants to know is 'Can we win a championship with Eli?' Mara is concerned with his development. And even though Coughlin and the Giants won the 2005 Eastern Division Title and back to back playoff berths, his job this year will be based and measured on only one thing -- Eli Manning's development.

Thank you for asking. I hardly ever talk about the team.

I have never seen a starting QB taunt another team's starting QB from the sideline the way Rivers did to Cutler last night.

Rivers, like the Chargers as a whole are all talk and nothing to back it up.

If Rivers wants to talk smack, he better have something to back it up besides his mostly unimpressive NFL career thus far, considering how high he went in the draft.

The AFC West, once the division of head coaches such as John Madden, Hank Stram, Don Coryell, Marty Schottenheimer, Dick Vermeil, Jon Gruden, Tom Flores, Chuck Knox, etc. has become the most pathetic joke of a division in terms of head coaches.

Herm, Norv, the 12 year old out in Oakland and Rat boy... good Lord.
