That's pretty cool, Mr. Laz. Their virtual lives are just beginning.

Have you talked with them about IP tracking yet?

post their email addresses and we'll all send them welcome-to-the-internet messages. They'll get a kick out of that.

My dad sends me one e-mail a year (when my sister gets it all set up for him ahead of time), and it always starts with something like "I'm sending you a message from this fancy computer."

Dig the cactus lamp.

Is that what it is? I thought it was some kind of multicultural fertility phallus.

several years ago, i got my folks a year of high speed dsl for Christmas.

i installed a network card in their pc and set the modem up and turned them loose.

i told dad to sit down and check it out. he bellies up to the keyboard and mouse, opens up his game of solitaire and says, "it doesn't seem to be running any faster."

Who got them set up with that indoor/outdoor digital thermometer sitting on the table?

My parents could not figure out the one I gave them on their own.

hehe ... that would be me.

Must be an age thing because they just live for the weather.

comes with little gauges you mount outside to measure the wind, rain etc. LMAO

I got my parents this weather forecaster for Christmas. The cool thing is that it picks up a wireless signal on its own, so you don't have to do anything with it except turn it on, and every 15 minutes it'll update the five-day forecast.

Don't let them stare at the picture-typewriter too long or they might have an aneurysm.

My grandma can use the computer for solataire and e-mail, and apparently she's writing some sort of memoire in Microsoft Word.

However, checking her voicemail on the cell phone is beyond her. Totally mind-blowing.
