View Full Version : Computer to Plasma

My laptop's hard drive crashed, so I currently have no computer except for this old one I had laying around. I am in the process of trying to get a media center computer, but I got a SVGA cord and hooked up my ikd computer to the back of my Plasma Display RGB input deal.

It looks shitty. The colors are really dull and dark. It's not the contrast of the TV because obviously when I go back to TV it looks great again. I'm not a computer guru but am I lacking a video card? Also my sound does not work at all, and the sound is checked on from all the sound controls.

ok, I am done because I am getting dizzie from the blurry text I have the read.

Yes, you almost certainly need a better video card, preferably one that can support a resolution above 1920x1080.

To be perfectly honest, it's hard to find a card that will work very well for basic browsing on a HTPC, as the text will generally be somewhat blurry.

If you want to kill two birds with one stone you should try a Radeon 2600 Pro or 2600 XT. They have and included DVI-HDMI adapter that will allow you to pass video and sound (up to 5.1) over one cable (in this case, HDMI).
