View Full Version : Getting Married

Hello everyone! Long time no post. There is a good reason for that. I have been busy planning a wedding and honeymoon. My beautiful bride to be and I are getting married next Saturday, August 4 at the Rio Hotel & Casino out in Las Vegas, NV.

Also, since the demise of NFLScoop, I have been working for FedEx in the inside sales department. This fall I will be returning to the Net as a fantasy football writer for Draftsharks.com (http://www.draftsharks.com) and I will be focusing on the Defense.

Just thought I would let everyone know. Some of you might not care and others might care for about 3 minutes. ;)

BTW, in talking with some people in the league, the Chiefs are being under-valued big time. After looking at the roster, I tend to agree. I still think we need to dump Todd Peterson and find someone else that make a kick over 40 yards. However, the one player that is poised to have a breakout year will be WR Tony Horne. It's just a hunch I have...but I think this kid will step into the spotlight from the get go.

Congratulations and best of luck, in both your marriage, and your future professional endeavers.
I look forward to seeing your input in draftsharks.

Maybe you should think this thing through just one more time.

Conrgradulations Marty,

Just remember the advice of Al Bundy: "Never do tequila shooters with a red-head within 100 yards of a 24-hour a day wedding chapel."

~hoping the soon to be Mrs. Marty isn't a red-head ;)

Congrats Marty! :D

I'm doing the wedding-bell shuffle in Vegas next year... tentatively scheduled at the Bellagio.

I'm sure you'll have a blast! Try not to lose too much green, mm'kay :)

In Vegas, eh? So ... will the preacher be the young, healthy Elvis or the fat bloated one? ;)

Seriously, though, congrats!! As a recently married guy let me just say it can be a beautiful thing!

Just never go to bed angry.

~~Loves being married (seriously ... stop laughing you guys ... I even have sex still ... seriously, stop laughing ...)

I'm gonna tell ya a little tid bit of knowledge that i got from a good friend at work

"A man does not know true happiness until he gets married, and by then its too late"

But seriously congratulations

congrats Marty...

its nice to have someone to come home to ... although I've found labrador retrievers are lower maintenance ;)

remember, marriage is an institution ... so watch out if she refers to "tying you up"

Congratulations. I got married in Vegas and frankly it was the best thing (cost wise) that I've ever done.

Take care, and may God bless you and your bride to be:D

I've always heard that marraige was a 3 ring circus...

1. Engagement Ring
2. Wedding Ring
3. Suffer-ing.

Good luck

It's a two way street with bumps and pot holes. Baggage usually gets added also. Keep that in mind and enjoy the company. It gets more interesting when you make more company. All in all, an enjoyable endevor. Hopefully you got the right gal, or in one aspect of your life it will be...

What RCGChief said!!

Good Luck and have fun.

Congrats, I think. ;)

I've been married for 6 years, and I can tell you that the single biggest adjustment I had to make was to learn how to **compromise**. Hell, I'm still working on it.

Know exactly what you are going through except I am about a month behind. Doing the whole planning thing with the fiance myself. I never knew how tense things could get over what the stamps look like on invitations. WHAT THE HELL??!!

Anyway... Congrats!!

You ... compromise? http://www.mpz.co.uk/cwm/contrib/blackeye/SHOCKED.gif

Planning planning a wedding sucks, don't it? Just don't argue over the little things. It took my wife and I a year and half to plan ours. Still things got goofed ... oh well. It's over now and we wished we would've gone to Vegas. Marty's got the right idea!

~~Likes being married ... didn't exactly enjoy getting married.

TMI, Dude!

What is the 37 Forever Foundation?

Mark M
07-27-2001, 07:02 AM
The 37 Forever Foundation is a group that seeks to honor the late Chiefs running back Joe Delaney.

Click here to see what we're about:

Or go to http://www.37forever.org for more about Joe, about what we plan to accomplish and even post on the 37 Forever message board.

If you have any other questions, feel free to e-mail me (just click the e-mail button) or AJKCFAN (he's the one who started it).

BTW, I will be rooting for your son to make the team this year. I really think that he can make a contribution due to his size (you fed him well growing up, didn't you! ;) ) and his attitude (he seems as though has no problem doing what's necessary to help the team).

~~Hopes he has helped.

Didn't I read something about you and Carpel Tunnel Syndrome somewhere? IMO that was TMI:D I was just tryin to re-assure Marty that it doesn't go away unless you let it. Sorry didn't mean to make you blush.

No need to apologize, Smitty! Be the proud He-man stud you are. The wife (perhaps I'll call her Blanche... yeah,... Blanche DuBois has a literary ring to it... a la Faulkner...) and I have been together for 22 years and still doin' it. AHHH -EE- AHHH (picture Zeb, wide stance, beating fists on chest (area above paunchy gut), doing his best manly Tarzan)

'gratz, Marty and best of luck.

As for the sex issue, you guys must just be lucky. I'm not even married yet (October 6th ;)) and I think I've already forgotten what "it"s like...

Planning sucks, but then again I'm getting married in my back yard with all of 10 folks in attendance, so I'm counting my blessings. It could be much, much, much, much, much, much worse.
