It'll be much more efficient for me to just neg rep all of you at once without having to hunt you down one by one.

I think you know I have ZERO interest in trading down.

We should trade all of our 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 6th, and 7th rd picks for all 32 5th rounders. We could ensure low-mediocrity for EVAR!!!

From my experience over the last 15 years, I'm almost always for moving down a few spots and gaining extra picks. Many times you can still get the player you want and save salary cap money at the same time.

The draft is a crap shoot, even if you have a top 5 pick. There are two ways to increase your odds in the draft, higher picks or more picks. Neither method garuantees success. In my book, and I admit that I don't know any more than any other fan, I'd rather have more picks. That method is cheaper on the salary cap.

Since this is a virtual world we are in, consider me to be wearing a bullet proof vest, body armor and returning fire! :bang:

Im always for moving down if the deal is right and/or there is not a player we covert there.

I don't really want us to, but it depends on what is there when we pick. It's not always bad to trade down. I'd prefer we moved down like 10 picks rather than trading out of the first though.

If anything I'd want us to move up. I'm still holding to the fantasy that for some unknown reason we can grab Dorsey.

This a "diaper" discussion. There are too many depends to give an accurate answer.

The only way I'd want to trade down is if it came to a scenario like the year of the Eli Manning draft (I forget what year) when San Diego was able to net a future first rounder plus some other picks, while only moving down a cople of spots and still getting the player they wanted. This isn't likely to happen at #5, so I'm not that worried about it.

But if we trade from #5 to #25 for a second rounder, I'll burn everything I own with a Chiefs logo on it. Maybe even everything red that I own, just so I don't run the risk of being reminded of them.

If you traded down from #5 into the 20s, you could probably pick up an extra first round pick next year. Maybe something else besides.

If our tackle is there, I'd pick him, but otherwise I might just pick up another first rounder next year.

That idea went right down the shitter the moment it was determined Oakland is picking ahead of us.

The only player JJ would move THAT far/much for is McFadden.

With Miami, St Louis and Atlanta ahead of them, it's a lead-pipe lock that the Raiders take McFadden. They'd be foolish not to.

No need to hunt me down, unless we clean house, no more Carl and no more Herm then I don't think we can make a good trade down occur.

I didn't know it was determined, i thought there were still coin flips

i believe you are correct.

some people are just defeatists.

There's a bit of difference between beaing a defeatist, and having faith in someone (cdcox) who designed his own software to forecast these things.

We're not going to draft in front of a team we finished ahead of in the division.

It depends on who is available, and how much the deal is for. For instance, Jerry Jones has a major woody for his Arkansas homeboy McFaddan. If we could get both his first rounders, his second rounder and his third rounder (that is about what the points chart works out to be), or maybe both his first this year, and his first nixt year, I might be willing to make a trade down.

thanks for the info. Is their official confirmation of the draft record by the NFL yet? Till than i will wait and see.

Until I see something different, I'm going on what cdcox has done.

If in fact a coin flip is necessary, we'll have a while to argue about it, since that coin flip will happen at the combine.

How are we ranked above them? We have an equally bad record, only we lost more to our conference foes, shouldnt that make us 4th?

If we trade down, our first round bust won't cost as as much cap space.

If we trade down, we do have some consolation that with our 1st round bust we also have a couple of extra picks to choke away too.

I'd give up all our picks if we could get rid everyone from Carl to Curl.
