No link yet, but they are blabbing about it on the Mane. Apparently it has nothing to do with his knee. He trashed the the team in a press conference today. Here's an article about it:

Javon Walker says Denver's not a good fit

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. - Javon Walker stopped short of demanding a trade like he did two years ago in Green Bay, but he suggested Monday that it might be best for everyone if the Denver Broncos sent him packing.

"It's not that they don't want me here, but I just don't think it's the best fit for me," Walker said as he prepared to meet with coach Mike Shanahan for his exit interview.

The Broncos (7-9) expected to compete for a championship but they lost Walker for two months after he underwent a third operation on his right knee, and Denver posted its first losing season since 1999.

Big changes are expected this off-season, perhaps starting with the departure of defensive boss Jim Bates, although Walker sounded as though he'd like to be the first one out the door.

Walker said he wouldn't ask for a trade but just didn't see himself fitting into Denver's plans in 2008, when he's due to make about $7.5 million in salary and bonuses.

He has said he wouldn't be amenable to restructuring his contract despite his injury-riddled season, and that he just needs an off-season of rest to return to his Pro Bowl form after catching 26 passes for 287 yards and no touchdowns this season.

In his absence, second-year pro Brandon Marshall blossomed into the Broncos' primary receiver with 102 catches for 1,325 yards and seven TDs, and slot receiver Brandon Stokley played so well that he received a three-year contract extension.

In a rambling eight-minute group interview in front of his locker that was eventually cut off by the team's public relations staff, an unusually jovial Walker said he can still be a great receiver but probably for somebody else.

"I just don't see it happening for me here," he said. "What it boils down to at this point is I've got to go where the best fit is for me. ... And if it's not the best situation for me (in Denver), it's the best situation for Brandon Marshall."

This was the first indication that Walker was unhappy in Denver, although he acknowledged last summer that he initially wanted out after cornerback Darrent Williams died in his arms in a New Year's Day drive-by shooting that remains unsolved.

Walker asked out of Green Bay after missing the 2005 season with a knee injury that occurred in the Packers' opener, the very thing his then-agent Drew Rosenhaus feared when Walker was threatening to hold out for more money.

Walker was upset that the Packers dismissed his contract complaints and also didn't appreciate Brett Favre telling him to put up and shut up, so he was traded to Denver on draft day in 2006, signed a five-year contract extension worth more than $40 million and had a stellar season for the Broncos.

But it's become apparent to Walker that he had it good in Green Bay, where the Packers capitalized on his deep threat ability much more than the Broncos have.

"Green Bay made me who I was for a team like this to want to bring me here," Walker said. "So, maybe it takes a team like that to go back."

Walker suggested, however, that he could find happiness if he stays in Denver.

"Yeah, if they do want me back, I greatly appreciate it," he said. "If not, you've got to move on."

Shanahan, who has called this the toughest season of his 13-year tenure in Denver, was unavailable for comment. He's scheduled his season-ending news conference for Jan. 7.

Who's the last "name" player Shanny signed that actually worked out? Bailey a few years ago?

If true, he could turn out to be a decent pickup for the Chiefs, ala Eddie Kennison. That said, he seems to thrive as a malcontent, which is not good karma for a KC team looking to fill the locker room with young, impressionable talent.

Any word on Eddie K. returning next year?

No. No. I'm not saying we should sign him. Although I'm not sure it would be a bad thing if the price was right. I was just springing wood at the thought of a guy with talent not wanting to be in Denver.

It's probably not fun to think they found a #1 WR in the 3rd round.

Would you just quit it? The Chiefs found a #1 DE in the 4th. Denver wishes they had a good DE.

Just sayin, they got a pretty damn good DE in what the 4th or 5th? It happens.

Neither team is exactly in a great spot, I'd say they are ahead of us though based on the 2 games this year...

T.O. was a 4th rounder.

It's not a point, it's a mantra, there is always a player or move that can be compared to the Chiefs to present them in a negative light.

Mecca should give reach arounds to Hootie and GC for welching, it's prolly the only thing that made people ask him to come back...IIRC, wasn't the bet for leaving involved with something positive happening for the Chiefs? 4-12 is wet dream for Mecca, it gives him a reason to splooge it all offseason.

I'm a bad person for point out the team sucks when it well sucks....

I'll go over repeatedly what I think they should do to become a top notch team, I wouldn't do that if I wanted them to suck. If I really thought that I'd go find another team and laugh at all my Chiefs fans friends for being stupid.

'I'm a bad person"

hey you said it.. not me...besides, you're just another Dense, taking the contrarion negative view to garner attention.... you don't really care if it's positive or negative....and we all know that without you saying we suck everyday, we would never have figured that one out...

His talent is oh so tempting...but he's quickly aging, has bad knees & has never been known as a "team chemistry" guy...Javon is all about Javon.

The only way i could stomach his acquisition, is if it was for a 1 year trial & at a big time cut rate...but he'd never accept that anyway, his head is damn near as big as Barry Bonds.

On a somewhat related note, i hope we get a great big Cromartie-esque CB to counter this Marshall kid...i cant stand seeing him out there against 5'10 to 6 footers, we need a check for him.

We need a replacement for EK, anyways.

Well Brandon Marshall is awesome so, I can't say I'm surprised.I knew that two years ago. DAMNIT, CARL!!!!! :cuss:

I may just be saying that because of the residual emotional scars from watching him torch our secondary, but he is quite impressive. He's huge, athletic, and flat-out productive (even when he was flipped to safety in 2004 due to UCF's injury problems). He would be an absolute steal in the fifth.

See? this is what people dislike about you. You do know football and I agree with most of your criticisms but there really is no need to take every opportunity to point out how much the Chiefs suck. The Broncos have been trying to draft a legit WR for like a decade. Congrats to them for finally getting one. They (the Broncos) still suck, too, by the way. They are us with a better coach and front office.

And aren't you suppose to have an opinion it's a net board, if none of us have them or they're all the same then that's boring..

I didn't say the Broncos were good either, just saying they made a nice pick with Marshall that's all.

I didn't hear about him being cut, but it was big news on the local news here that he basically said he wanted out. However, this isn't really anything different than Jared Allen said last offseason, the only difference being perhaps their contract status. I don't know what Walker's is.

This is good news, in my opinion. Walker is a pretty good receiver, so hopefully he'll get out.

If he came here and had TO impact on this team, it'd be the best thing that could happen. TO has been great in Dallas, I wish he played for the Chiefs.

The Mange has been in meltdown followed by denial for the entire season. They one day hate shanny, next day its more shanny love. They cannot figure out that they have almost a perfect view of the future if they look at the Chiefs over the last few years...

The Rat is not making good decisions and has not all season

Two years of no playoff...not good for them at all.

Player problems...shannys gangers, druggers, and guys with personal problems abound on that team

Lynch is done, walker wants out, the defense in shambles.

Fun to sit back and watch them melt down while they have same issues we have,,,full satdium and steady income with no motivation to make a change.

Give it time...they are on the road we have been on.

Obviously he wants to play for a team that is going to win it all, and is going to bitch and jump from team to team until he finds it. He is still probably crying to himself that GB is a number 2 seed and he jumped to what he discovered is a mediocre team. He will probably be like TO, as soon as he sees an issue with a team he will bitch to get moved somewhere better. I just wish more of these type players would be traded to the Card's or some other football hell.

Have you even followed TO's career? The guy wasn't happy with Donovan effing McNabb throwing him the ball, and all it took was 2 bad games by Romo for him to start rumbling in Dallas this year. How long do you think he'd last catching passes from Huard/Croyle? Forget lockerroom cancer ... he'd be more like perpetual explosive diarrhea.

He has been nothing but great in Dallas. And perhaps a huge part of why Romo has been as good as he has been is because of TO, not in spite of him.

With us not using him as a play maker and just using him as a regular 4 yard WR the guys head would explode
