He recieved 46 of 50 votes. Joe Thomas recieved 4. I thought Bowe would at least get a little respect here...

why? Bowe was on a 4 win team...Peterson was insane, he broke the single game rushing record and had about 5 other great games...Joe Thomas was great all year long and the Browns were an offensive machine...

Why do you think Bowe belongs in the same category as those two?

He was great, he'd be on the all rookie 1st team if there was one...every re-draft had him going top 7...but he was nowhere close to the ROY.

I know he doesn't touch what Peterson did this year, but I think he was the closest rookie to him. If they gave AFC ROY and NFC ROY, Bowe would be AFC hands down.

what other Rookie receiver had ~1000 yards 5 TDs?

More stats than the freak of nature Calvin Johnson and Bowe was on a hands down worse team than Johnson.

He didnt have 1000 yds did he. Thought he finished at 985 or something like that.

I'm just saying some recognition would have been nice. The team sucked and he stayed healthy. He should have been pretty darn close. How many other rookie WR's in the last 10 years had comparable stats? I'd say Colquit in NO, but who else?

This contest was decided halfway through the season. I love Bowe and he FAR exceeded any expectations I had for him, but Peterson did ungodly things on the field. That being said, I am surprised he didn't get a little recognition.

Bowe had games where he was a dominating force, and games where he totally disappeared altogether.

AP was out for something like 3 games I think and still rushed for 1,400 yards, and when he did play he was consistently amazing, save maybe twice the entire year.

995 yards and 5 tds in OUR offense is worth a ROY screw AP, even though he kicks everyones ass and is purple jesus

It's pretty amazing what a dominate offensive line can do for young players. AP could have had even more carries to pad his stats, but I suppose their second option wasn't so bad after all.

Kinda like Priest and LJ that one year, i miss our dominant Oline, such a waste :shake:Pretty much. If the administration had put 1/2 the effort in developing an average defense, as they did compiling a juggernaut offense and a great line via FA, we'd more than likely have an AFC Championship or possibly Superbowl to hang our hats on.
