Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe is one of five finalists for the 2007 Diet Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year Award. Chiefs fans can vote for Bowe on NFL.com beginning today. Voting concludes on January 28th.

Bowe was selected as the Chiefs first-round pick in the 2007 NFL Draft. He played in 16 games (15 starts), totaling 70 receptions for 995 yards (averaging 14.2 yards per catch) and scored five TDs, figures that led all NFL rookie receivers. Both the 995 receiving yards and 70 catches were the highest single-season marks by a rookie in Chiefs history. Bowe had two 100-yard games. He set a Chiefs single-game rookie record with 164 receiving yards in a 30-16 win at San Diego (9/30). He also caught a season-high nine passes for 105 yards vs. Denver (11/11).

For the third year, NFL fans may cast their votes using phones with Sprint wireless service - an opportunity available only to Sprint customers. This fast, convenient voting method involves texting the word PEPSI to short code 7777. Sprint customers will then receive an interactive text message that links fans to the ballot with the five finalists. Data and text messaging rates may apply.

The winner will be presented the 2007 Diet Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year Award during a press conference in Arizona, the site of Super Bowl XLII, on Thursday, January 31, 2008.

The four other finalists for this year’s award are Buffalo RB Marshawn Lynch, Minnesota RB Adrian Peterson, Cleveland T Joe Thomas and San Francisco LB Patrick Willis. The five finalists were selected for their outstanding performances throughout the 2007 NFL season. Each week, five nominees were chosen for Diet Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week and NFL fans voted for the winner on NFL.com and via Sprint wireless. Those results were used to help determine the finalists.

Bowe must have had a 1000 yard escalator in his rookie contract.

Bowe would have easily had 1k yards if he didnt drop the ball so much. Give him credit for his rookie success, and resposibility for not reaching 1k.

Someone should shoot you.

Look to the right side towards the middle of the page. There's a "poll" voting.

Everyone better start voting so far Bowe has only 5% of the votes to Patrick Willis 41%

Well AP deserves it, but it sure is nice to see a Chief on that list for once. Shocking almost.

Here's my top 3 from what I watched this season:

1. Willis
2. Peterson
3. Bowe

I do think Joe Thomas had a great deal to do with Anderson's ( and Lewis') success, but I didn't see many Browns games this year.
