It's the greatest. I just watched Carnivale again. I'm going to watch Deadwood next. I also put a bunch of old classic '60's and '70's shows in my queue. Kolchak:Night Stalker, Dark Shadows, Gulligans Island, Family Affair. Not yet released but I'm looking for is, Courtship of Eddies Father and My 3 sons.

Meh...I tried it in the past and wasn't impressed but I'm not into re-runs and cartoons. I may give it another try though and see if it's any better now.

Ive been a Netflix customer for a couple years and decided to try Blockbuster. Im in the second week of my 1 month free trial, and so far it sucks major ass compared to Netflix. I added movies to my queue the day I signed up and it took the 4 days to even ship them, then another 3 to get them. One of my first 3 discs was scratched so bad it wouldnt play, and another was cracked. I know that happens with Netflix occasionally, but you would think they would make sure they send playable dvd's to at least their new customers.

I've been a member for about a year and really have enjoyed their service. The vast library lets me rent stuff I can't find at my local store. Since my location is so rural that speaks alot! I've come across a couple movies that were scratched and wouldn't play, easy fix through Netflix though.

That's the best part about Netflix, their enormous library. You almost can't name something they don't have. And those recommendations it gives you, sometimes they aren't great but they can also show you a somewhat obscure film you never would have heard of otherwise.

And the service is super fast too, especially if you live in the KC metro, they must have a center in KC or something, because it could hardly be any faster.

I was on hiatus from it for a while because I've been too busy, but I saw they rent bluray movies now so I'm back in the saddle again.

I tried it, and for being blockbuster their library is smaller then netflix's.. It also helps that KC has a shipping warehouse so I can get movies in about 3 days turnaround..

As for the cracked discs, the Blockbuster guys tell me most of the movies they give out online are their old ones..(no idea if that is true or not).. I just rent new releases from Blockbuster and get box sets, series and other movies that you cannot find in a brick store..

I have been on Netflix for a few months now. I love it. I've only used the download movies option a few times. The selection of movies you can watch on your PC is minimal. But I absolutely love the selection of dvds. Plus, from the time I put a movie in the mailbox to the time a new one arrives, it only takes 2 days. That's fast.

Do it. It's awesome. I've been with them about 6 months and everything I looked for has been there. 2-3 day turnover. If I mail on Monday, I get my next movies on Wednesday. Weekends will trip you up though.

Recent Netflix discovery: You are alloted 3 "lost" DVDs per year. Meaning a person could potentially accidently not receive 3 DVDs a year and Netflix will simply ship a replacement no questions asked.

Not that I'd endorse such behavior.....

They are more lenient then that.. If they do not recieve my dvds within four days after the mail picks them up I mark them as lost so I get my new ones in the mail.. I would say I hit the lost button 5-9 times a year because of snail mail..

Eventually they get there though..

I was actually talking about DVDs not arriving....

As in, say a relatively shady fella received his Netflix DVD in the mail. And say he then removes the DVD and places it in his entertainment center as if it were his own. He then would wait a week and report to Netflix that the DVD never arrived. Netflix would ship another, and apologize for the inconvenience...

A guiltless fella could pull that off 3 times a year, possibly more... so said a Netflix employee...

I'm usually happy with their service...but "throttling" irritates me.

And this week marks the 4th time I didnt get Bourne Supremacy and the new Halloween.

I usually never get skipped over more than once or twice for a film (even on "long wait" status)....but these two for some reason have proved very difficult to attain.

On another note, how do you pronounce "Queue"? Is it "cue-you" or "kwee-wee" or what?

I was on Netflix for 3 years and their service got very slow. The turn around really dropped off bad. I switched to BB and they aren't any better, but they do have the deal where you can drop your return movie at the store and get another . I've been on BB for a couple months now and am considering switching back.

Does anyone have a problem with Netflix when you return a movie on a Friday? Seems like when I return a movie on Monday thru Thursday, I have my new movie exactly 2 days later. When I return it on a Friday I don't get them until Tuesday for some reason. Do they not ship out on Saturdays or something?

To speed this up, when they mail you a weekly questionnaire on when you got the movie always choose the later date.. They will ship quicker to you if it is taking too long, and if you choose that you got it right away they will either keep it the same or slow down on how quick you get your movies..

Someone told me about this when movies were taking four+ days to get to me.. Since I have started doing this, movies generally take 2 days tops..

Maybe I think it is the amount of mail that builds up at the post office on Saturday/Sundays..

You ship Mon-Thur, they get it friday, they ship it out Saturday, it competes with other mail so you get it Saturday or Monday depending on the time the Post office gets it.

You ship Fri, they get Saturday, they ship it out Saturday night or Monday..
That and the postoffice hates Netflix, so it would not surprise me if they bumb them down to last on shipping..

I just signed up for netflix based on the comments in this thread. We watch quite a few movies every month and we've been renting mostly at Blockbuster. I had been thinking about trying Blockbuster's online service, but based on comments here, I decided to go with netflix. My first three movies are going to be Kevin Smith's "Mallrats", "Charade" with Audrey Hepburn, and the first disk of the first season of Stargate SG-1.
