Here's how Oakland and KC have performed on average in the 4th quarter on select statistics:

Statistic........ Oak : KC Edge
Points For....... 29 : 40 KC
Points against... 33 : 20 KC
Start. QB rating. 52.2 : 69.3 KC
Opponent QB rat.. 85.0 : 41.6 KC

Net yards per
offensive play..3.9 : 4.7 KC

Yards yielded per
opp. off. play..5.5 : 3.8 KC

Rushing avg.......2.7 : 3.9 KC
Opp. rush. avg....3.8 : 5.0 Oak
First downs.......21 : 29 KC
Opp. first downs..27 : 21 KC

3rd- and 4th-down
first-down conversion pct. 29.4 : 38.1 KC

Opp. 3rd/4th down
first-down conversion pct. 25.0 : 22.2 KC

Each team has had one overtime game, both on the road: Oakland beat San Francisco with a TD; we lost to Tennessee by a FG.

Overall, the Chiefs have been a better 4th-quarter team, which bodes well for us if the score is close after 3 quarters.

Keeping it close is the key. I predict 21-17 victory for Chiefs. Chiefs will score the winning TD in the last couple of minutes scaring the hell out of all of us.

I think we handle the Raiders on Sunday and I do not think its going to be heart attack time either. The Raiders can be passed on and Elvis is going to back them off with passes over the middle to Tony G. Then they will turn Kimble and Tony lose and the running game gets a big boost this weekend. I look to see total domination by our D, Gunther has been concentrating on exactly that this past weekend. Chiefs 27 Faiders 6.

CHIEF1,

I tend to agree with you. I think after our usual First Quarter give and take, we will dominate.

I fully expect us to enter the second Qtr down by a few points.

If we're not, this will be a good test to see if we've gained the killer instinct (rather than just try to set on a lead).

The only way Oakland wins this, is if we let them back in the game.

I read that the Raiders were thin at DT (FA defections), and the starters are playing a lot of minutes. Might be the reason for the 4th qtr disparity. A close game, Chiefs 24-20

Mr. Duck...now those are some impressive stats...those alone lead me to believe the the Raiders will kick our butts.... http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif

Jano can kick the ball into the endzone, too bad he can't kick it between the uprights.... http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/tongue.gif
