Maybe we should just name each team "Football Players." In week 1 it would be the Kansas City Football Players vs. the Oakland Football Players. God forbid that we offend anyone. ;)

Great post ... but according to the Tuesday Morning Quarterback at slate.com, the PC name for the 'Skins is the "Chesapeake Watershed Region Indigenous Persons" (or just "the Persons" for short). He also calls the Giants and Jets "New Jersey A" and "New Jersey B".

TMQ on slate ... another reason to hail the beginning of the NFL season!:D

No that wouldn't work. They ARE football players, hence they would be offended by calling them football players according to previous "logic" that was posted on a thread the other day.

Well, that's mildly amusing. There's only one team with a truly degrading name though. Would you feel okay with it if it were the Washington whiteskins, crackers, or honkeys?

KC Jones: To be honest, I could care less. I have other issues in life that are WAY ahead of the name of any given football team. ;)

KC Jones,

I don't really care either, but I do feel that the Skins should have changed their name LONG before the Bullets did.

Jones - Crackers would be very fitting for a Marty ran team in the playoffs.

Tired of watching marty crack under the pressure

I don't know about "crackers".....I think persons of Plumber dissent might be offended due to stereotyping that all of them have 6" of crack hanging out the back of their pants...

when in truth its usually 10". :D

call a team anything you want. Its already PC and acceptable to make fun of rural americans anyway...call them the REDNECKS if you want...I wouldn't complain one bit if I can operate a profitable Tax free business.

Washington Casino Owner Americansis more appropriate anyway.
