U.S. Rep. John Murtha and in landslide fashion.
Murtha, D-Johnstown, who funded 72 projects with$149.2 million in earmarks in fiscal 2008 spending bills, was named the 2007 Porker of the Year through an online poll conducted by Citizens Against Government Waste.
Murtha received an impressive 63.4 percent of the vote. Alaska Republican Rep. Don Young, no slouch when it comes to delivering for his state, finished a distant second with 10.6 percent of the vote.
Voters chose from finalists selected by the anti-tax group's staff from among the 12 Porker of the Month winners for 2007.
Murtha, chairman of the House Defense Appropriationwas Subcommittee, was Mr. May.
