Calculated using only players:

a.) That we have on our roster.
b.) Are actually signed.

I did not include:

a.) Any RFAs who have not been resigned.
b.) Any UFAs we have not resigned.
c.) Any players released.
d.) John Carney, as he is unlikely to last the offseason.

I didn't do any fancy math (calculating days and months), I just took 2008 and subtracted the player's birth year.

A couple years ago we were at 30 years of age.

Now we're around 26 years of age. Before the Draft.

I think Herm will be proved correct when he said we might have the youngest team in the league next year. Its pretty refreshing to not be one of the oldest just waiting for the wheels to fall off. Just my 2.

Let's keep updating this thread with each signing, throughout camp until final cuts. And adjusting for any in-season roster moves.

It'll be interesting.

I just hope we show alot of improvement. If we dont. We are going to be in last place for a long time.

I'm pretty sure we are going to finish behind them this year.

Nah, we still have Oakland.

That doesnt mean shit, they were in the SB in 2003. They at least show that they can get to the big game. Chiefs? not so much.

Doesn't matter where we finish this year. Probably next year too.

This team won't be relevant until 2010, at the very soonest. This is all foundational stuff.

Agreed, however, I wouldn't mind seeing a hedge to our draft bets by getting at least one of those positions filled before April 26th...especially #2WR.

Don't get your hopes up.

Any fan that thinks this team will be competitive next year or vastly improved is delusional. And I like the direction the team is currently headed.

Sometimes being "the youngest team" means "we can't think of anything else nice to say about the team".

Young doesn't mean shit when players like Pollard are your starters. Young is great, when they are great players, otherwise you just have younger, shittier players, BFW.

All this means is by the time Carl and Herm are canned and a new coach comes in and gets settled they'll all be in their 30's.

I think the problem occurred when we were leading our division. Before the season, we were all set with beginning a rebuilding stage in our franchise. Then we showed a glimmer of hope at the beginning of the season, even though it was a false hope and we came crashing down quickly. If we just went 1-15, I think we would all be in a better mood now-a-days.

By not having all these old vets the Chiefs are forced to play the young kids and they can now grow as a football team. I am exited about the youth movement even with the growing pains that we will have that's part of the deal. As long as the players show improvement throughout the season we should be in fine shape in the next couple of years.

WHAT?

You mean you don't want to go out and sign some FA's so we can get back to 8 wins ASAP?

As long as LJ doesn't get hurt and we play solid defense, every game should be pretty close. The line should be slightly upgraded, Croyle/Bowe have some starts under their belts, and Gailey being a better OC than Solari should help a lot too.

Darling was born in 1982. 2008-1982 = 26 years old.

Our team continues to get younger.

Wait 'til we bring in 10 rookies. We may very well hold true to Herm. We'll definitely be in the Top 5 for youth.

And in the top 5 in the draft as well.

Although, I guess that isn't such a bad thing. I have been clamoring for a couple of high draft picks for a while so I guess I am getting what I wished for. Would love to get Laurinatis (or however you spell his name) or Malcolm Jenkins next year.

We do need Michael Oher.

Not if we draft a great tackle this year. Oher could also play guard but it would be stupid to take a guard in the top 5.
