A southern conservative would help. Huckabee is southern, but not the kind of conservative I'm looking for.

Forget the southern conservative thing then. Is Rick Santorum getting too wealthy to consider the VP spot?

A rumor is that he promised the spot to Gov. Crist of Florida in return for his endorsement.

It could be a woman like Kay Bailey Hutchinson of Texas. She's a mainstream conservative who wouldn't get lefties agitated like a Huckabee or a Santorum (of whom I'm a big fan) would.

Bob Novak says that Karl Rove and a group of 50 conservatives from the CPAC convention (where Mitt Romney withdrew from the nomination) want Mitt Romney, but I have to say, as a Romney fan, that I don't see how that helps unless they think Romney can give them a shot at Michigan, which I doubt.

Crist won't help McCain with the conservatives because he's known as a RINO.
He's giving us insurance socialism and other price-controls here from the hurricanes. Now, he's crossing over to help the Dems by encouraging another primary here, which I think we taxpayers have to pay for.

This could encourage Pubs to cross-over to nominate Hillary ( if they were allowed) assisting her nomination to make sure McCain wins. Christ is a jerk.
