Do players who were on more than one team get to pick what they go into the HOF as e.g. a Viking or a Bronco?

Zim picks Bowlen as presenterBy Bill Williamson

Gary Zimmerman has said from the day he was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame that he considered himself a Broncos' Hall of Famer.

If there were any lingering questions about Zimmerman's allegiance, they have been answered. He has selected Broncos owner Pat Bowlen to present him Aug. 2 at the Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.

It will be Bowlen's first time as a presenter. John Elway, the Broncos' only other Hall of Famer, chose his daughter Jessica to present him in 2004.

Zimmerman said Bowlen was his first and only choice.

"I think the world of him," said Zimmerman, who joined the Broncos in a trade from the Minnesota Vikings in 1993. He retired after the Broncos' first of two Super Bowl victories.

"Mr. Bowlen revived my career," Zimmerman said.

Bowlen said he was humbled by Zimmerman's decision.

"Gary meant so much to our team, and this will be a special moment," Bowlen said. "The Hall of Fame ceremony is always something special to me, but clearly this one will be especially important."

Players aren't enshrined as a member of any team. They are enshrined as individual players and IIRC all teams they played for are represented.

Induction ceremony
The induction ceremony is usually held the first full weekend in August. A community festival is held throughout the week in Canton leading up to the induction ceremonies. Also, the Pro Football Hall of Fame Game (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pro_Football_Hall_of_Fame_Game), an annual NFL pre-season exhibition game (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exhibition_game), is held the day after the induction ceremony.
Enshrinees do not go into the Pro Football Hall of Fame as a member of a certain team. Rather, all of an inductee's affiliations are listed equally.[6] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pro_Football_Hall_of_Fame#_note-SelectionProcessFAQ)

Enh, they're just HOF'ers that played on those teams... making their name and being identified likely with one more than another. Tony Dorsett is a HOF'er, but nobody will associate him in that light with Denver even though he played there for a short period of time.

Shannon Sharpe will be a HOF'er with rings from both Denver and Baltimore.

Recognition and team affiliation within the Pro Football Hall of Fame and public perception are two separate items.

That's mostly due to senile (and technology ignorant) senior citizen transplants not originally from Florida.
