I posted this in DC; hopefully the mods will see the value of it in the "Lounge"....especially in such a "dead" period of the Planet year, prior to the draft....

This seems like a updated site that does a pretty good job of "weighting" issues, and prioritizing them in a way that helps you sort through the mush of agreeing and disagreeing on a variety of issues for each candidtate.

It take about 10-15 minutes, unless you are an illiterate Bronco fan.... ;)

http://glassbooth.org

It also provides interesting analysis and citations, which seems to do a good job of explaining why you agree or disagree with a given candidate's positions--given that candidate's recored and rhetoric.

My results:

McCain 76%
Obama 70%

:hmmm:

Hillary Clinton....not on my radar. :D

Actually, that site shows me at 72% McCain, 59% Paul, and 49% Obama.

I am shocked that McCain is so high for me since I really don't care much for him, but I do like him more than the other candidates that are still running.

I didn't think Paul was still in the race though. Unless he is about to announce a third party run which he has said several times that he wouldn't do.

Somehow I ended up with even-steven for McCain and Obama. Is that even possible?

Well it is based on your interests as opposed to theirs. That just means that it really doesn't matter who you vote for.

69% Obama

68% Hillary

51% McCain

That's pretty much how I feel about who's left.

It is "possible"...IF you rank issues, weighted equally.....but diametrically opposed....on the same issues that Obama and McCain, agree and disagree, respectively, on... :hmmm:

It's like me, quite a feat though: you must be an Independent/Moderate type though. :thumb:

Uh.... NO.

Hell NO.

We have a separate politics/Godsmack forum for a reason. Any deviation from this is BAD. The time of year is irrelevant.

Please... somebody... move this to where it belongs.

The minute you politicos get a toehold over here it'll be all over - we'll be up to our enhanced bandwidth in Barack v. Hillary v. Ron Paul v. Taco v. DEnise v. Jim v. patteau v. whoever. F#ck that. It took way too long to get this bullshit banished to another plane, and I was one of the principal members in the effort to make it happen.

Not again.

I know you're just testing the waters. Well, they're hostile.

It's always the same bunch of douches posting this crap over here. It's like they think we don't know there's a political board to visit if we want to.

...and even though there was a tie it said I should vote for Hillary. It seems the page has a bias. And, no, I'm not voting for Hillary.

I agree. This thread seems pretty tame at the moment, but past history suggests that it will eventually turn into a political pissing match. Please keep politics in the DC forum where it belongs.

OMG!!! I can only say, it must have been a bunch I chose in the middle for lack of a better answer. Then that flat tax is one I strongly oppose....but my true stand is not reflected. Because I do not support our progressive income tax either.

Hillary Clinton 74%
Obama 69%
Ron Paul 69%

So I went back and checked off the middle option on that flat tax question and I got"
71% Ron Paul
71% Clinton
66% Obama

That's more like it for me!

The more I dig into this site, the more interesting it gets.

If you haven't taken the quiz, and examined your results by clicking on links that are provided....which go to infomation/sites/facts to illustrate why you would be in agreement, or disagreement, with a particular candidate--then you should. It's really pretty eye-opening.
