Well Jayhawk fans, we got no MU, No KSU and had a hard time with an inspired NU team. This tourney has had it's strange twist so far, Hey, CU beat Baylor.

So here we are Rd # 2, aTm vs KU , Sat.. What time is the game ? I'm thinking 3 PM or 3:30 PM, anybody know ?

Mark Turgeon, back in the KC area against KU. Sorry Mark, we love ya but it's time to go down again. I look for aTm to keep it closer this time.

ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK KU !:KU:

Sure. Then we'll bet who goes deeper in the tourney. KU or KSU.

I have no doubt they'll get an invite, as well they should. I was just asking if 88-31-10 was man enough to back up his BS statement with $$.

No we won't, I will likely have KU to win the thing and KSU to get bounced in either the opening round against another 8-9 seed or in the second round against a #1, depending on matchups.

Hell, I WANT KU to win it. I put $50 on them the last time I was in Vegas (last June) when they were at 10-1.

we'll be there, but it won't have anything to do with Beasley. It is because we ARE the #3 team in the #2 conference.

As Lunardi said a couple of weeks ago...people watch the tourney to watch it, it doesn't matter if Beasley is playing or not.

I just hope that KU doesn't get screwed again and have to go out West. I would prefer they get the #2 in the Midwest/Detroit (with Tennessee as the #1) or South/Houston (Memphis #1).

I also would like for (since I'm making requests of the committee) KSU to be the 8 or 9 in the east where UNC will be the #1 just to see a Beasly vs Hansborough matchup if the Cats can get past the 8/9 game.

I would like to see Hansboro v Beasley also. I hate psychobitch, but I think he comes out on top of this one.

His team undoubtedly would, but I imagine Beasleys' numbers would be better.

FWIW, I am a KSU and KU fan. I never attended either one. I grew up a KU fan (yeah in football too:(), but when KSU decided to give a scholly to my daughter, I learned to like them real quick.

From what the daughter says, you probably would if you knew him. I have only met him once, but she hangs out with him all the time (she's an athlete there as well) and says he's really a good person, not like he comes off at times on TV. I had honestly pre-judged him with all of the tats and such, but just meeting him the one time he seemed like a good kid.

We let an 8 point lead vanish....... that was just stupid. Makes us have to work harder the 2nd half now on a day we are not looking very good.

Is it me or what, I got a feeling most of the players are holding back waiting for someone to get hot and carry them. We are taking stupid shots or shots that look horrible.... Collins,Chalmbers and Jackson are the only ones I see doing any amount of hustle.

KU will most likely be a #2. However, with Duke losing today and a win over Texas tomorrow, KU could possibly end up with a #1. Still, I don't think they will because it will probably be decided before that game is even played. I think KU solidified their #2 by getting to the conference championship game.

That's why the Big 12 Tournament is moving to Wed-Sat next year.

Duke has lost today, and especially if Tennessee losses (they're down 2 at halftime), I don't think they can decide until the game is over... I think they'll have to put Texas/Kansas in a #1 slot and Kansas/Texas in a #2 slot, and move on with seedings until the game is over.

If UNC, UCLA, and Kansas win their tournaments, it works out well for Kansas; especially if Tenessee losses. Kansas would probably get the last #1 and be matched up with Tenessee or Duke in Houston or Detroit.

If UNC, UCLA, and Texas win, I think they'll give Houston to Memphis and send Texas to Detroit; then Kansas would be matched up against Memphis in Houston.

I think it gets interesting if UCLA losses, especially if Tennesse wins their tournament. Then you're looking at a situation where the winner of Texas/Kansas gets a #1, but gets shipped out to Phoenix and matched up with UCLA. :cuss:

Who cares about bubble teams... being on the top is what it's all about. :D

i think we are a #2 all the way .... about the only thing we can hope for now is that we don't get the #2 in UCLA's bracket since they get to play home games throughout the tourney. :spock:

Obviously, I'm not some expert like that Lunardi guy people always talk about, but I think it's best if UCLA wins... UCLA would be the second #1 and Kansas would either be the fourth #1 or first #2, regardless of what happens vs. Texas tomorrow. If Kansas wins and UCLA losses, we're at risk of being the last #1 seed and being matched up with a #2 UCLA in Phoenix. jmho.

Sweet, I think it's a fairly clear picture now...

1 seeds
UNC to Charlotte
UCLA to Phoenix
Memphis to Houston
Kansas or Texas to Detroit

2 seeds
Tennessee to Detroit
Texas or Kansas to Houston
Georgetown to Charlotte
Duke to Phoenix

If Kansas wins, I wonder if they'll put Texas in Houston with a #1 Memphis... and I wonder if the committee would actually ship Duke all the way out to Phoenix, but they won't put them in Charlotte with UNC... maybe they'll send Tennessee instead.

The Georgia coach was whining about having to play two games in one day... WTF do you want the SEC to do, tell the NCAA to delay everything by a day and have Selection Monday?

I think he should have played the race card. There's no way in hell a conference would do something like that to Duke. They would have just given Duke the championship and been done with it.

The order in which they showed it on Sportcenter makes me believe he said it between games.... which makes it just as bad, IMO, to give your team an excuse before you even play the second game.

I'm surprised at ESPN's lack of spin... they've been talking about how the AAU leagues play 2 or 3 tournament games in a day, so it's not a big deal. It's how they should react, because it's probably not a big deal to the players, but I remember when they made a huge deal about how the Tennessee football team had to fly on gameday once, even though every other division does it... by bus. They've gone out of their way to not make the news this time.
