This is one I really wanted this year. Yes he has an injury problem but he is young and very productive when healthy. And his contract was very reasonable.

Panthers agreed to terms with WR D.J. Hackett on a two-year, $3.5 million contract, according to Scout.com's Adam Caplan.

While Hackett has dealt with injuries, he's been highly productive when healthy and is only 26. In Carolina, he becomes the top candidate to start opposite Steve Smith with Muhsin Muhammad likely working from the slot. Dwayne Jarrett will compete with Ryne Robinson to be the fourth receiver. Hackett has vertical and red-zone ability and should draw some attention away from Smith. His addition is good news for all Panthers skill players besides Jarrett. Expect solid WR3/4 numbers if Hackett starts.

It's telling that the Seahawks who have major WR problems (Branch is coming off of a late ACL injury, Engram is 35, Burleson is a role player at best) didn't want to bring DJ back. He couldn't Hackett (ok, that was bad).

He may still be a young receiver but still not sure if he would be a number 2 for the chiefs.
And not sure Hackett wanted to come to KC which would be the first thing, he had a chance to come in if he wanted but chose from what i could see all east coast teams

Always hurt, but when healthy I thought this kid was REALLY talented. I would have liked to give him a shot here.

I'm a little dissapointed in this . Hackett was rock solid when healthy.

I'll trust the FO though.. I was also dissapointed last year when we traded D jack for a
4th round pick and now that looks like a great move. In ruskell I trust. (Still pissed about hutch tho)

Everybody knew Jarrett was slow as molasses, but the USC homers said he would be great. Glad we took a pass.
