View Full Version : Shameless rumor about Herm.

Got a friend who knows a woman who works for Gunther Cunningham. She's a longtime employee of his, and he's not sure what capacity she works for Gunther, but it's something along the lines of being his secretary, something non-football related.

I do not know my friend to be a reliable source of information, but this is juicy enough to pass on.

According to this woman, Herm's incited a lot of fury inside the Chiefs organization over the past year or so because he's trying to play the king, he's trying to completely overrun the organization from head to toe and trying to run out a lot of the employees who've worked for the Chiefs for years and years and years.

We're not just talking about high level assistants and stuff like that, but micromanaging on a such a level that he wants certain secretaries and other seemingly inconsequential jobs recast completely. Apparently he's done this without consulting any of the upper level guys who these lesser employees work for, and that's incited a lot of the growing resentment towards him.

Gunther, for one, was supposedly furious at Herm for even suggesting that a couple of his assisants had to go.

Enjoy. :D

That's not completely true, but there is some truth to it. From '89 - '97 we were one of the most reported teams in the NFL. During that period we had a year or two that we had the highest "gear" sales among the teams in the NFL

Gunther isn't a bad coach, he just isn't great. He's also running a defense that isn't suited to his style of coaching. We have more cluster****s on this team that I've ever seen. Great if that's your goal.

You seem to have forgotten that during those years we were in the running for the SB virtually every year.

The goal of any team is to get to that big game, the fact that KC didnt' get there in those years is not a slam to the Chiefs, so to speak, but that other teams had more of a desire to prepare for the games and get the job done. I wanted the Chiefs there as much as anyone but I'm not going to slam the team for making the effort then.

Slamming them now days is easy because they suck and the HC sucks and the GM needs to be replaced.

This organization needs an enema.

That said, my cousin's girlfriend's sister's step-brother's niece said that her best friend was chatting in AIM with this kid and he said he read on a blog that a pet whisperer heard from Carl's chihuahua that Herm told the dog he wanted to disinter Lamar's body, fire it, then re-bury it upside-down. Obviously the dog was extremely traumatized.

And you continue to be a fan of that franchise. Just remember that everytime you buy Chiefs merchandise, go to a game or watch them on TV, you are contributing to the problem.

you a charger fan or something??? we actually follow our team through the rough times unlike that pathetic fan base.

So...what you decided to do is to come over and shoot crap towards our team without having the stones to identify yours?

How brave and insightful. Guys like you don't hang around long because you don't have the intestinal fortitude to handle what this board dishes out.

No, actually it was pretty well planned out. This board specializes in deflection when confronted with attacks on the Chiefs, so by not identifying my team it forces you to address the smack talk at hand rather than deflecting it back onto my team.

Oh, and believe me when I say that there is absolutely nothing in this world you could say over the internet that would make me leave. I've been to alot of message boards in my life and you guys ain't exactly cream of the crop when it comes to smack talk and personal attacks.

Just as an FYI, we didn't create this board to do meet the challenge of equaling the smaque content of other boards. This is a board to talk about various topic, including the Chiefs.

And BTW, many of us have been to other boards and find them less entertaining and enjoyable. Just because someone can beat "well your Mom wears combat boots" in their smaque doesn't make them entertaining or "better".

I bet you think that magicians actually do saw people in half.

Jeez, milky. If you don't remember that the Chiefs were competitive during the first 7 years that CP and MS were in KC you haven't been a fan very long. Before those two showed up in KC we had been to a playoff game once or twice in the previous 16 years.

I've never seen a real magician. Everything I've seen has been optical gags and slight of hand.

Winning football games is not magic, you win with more points.

I've been a fan since the day the moving trucks pulled up to old Municipal Stadium in KC.

They won a lot of regular season games, creating the illusion that they were contenders, but when it mattered the most, they couldn't score more points in the post season.

The fact that Joe Montana was almost able to overcome Marty's playoff incompetence is a damn miracle.

Without Montana, those Marty Chiefs scored an average of 11 points, or thereabouts.

They were pretenders, not contenders.

If that's your outlook they will never be anything more to you, not a thing.

I put a little more into playing in the AFC Championship game than being a pretender.

I'm a long time fan myself. I watched them the very first year they were in KC. I suppose that the trip to SB I and SB IV they were pretending as well.

I don't really feel you have a grip on what it takes to win as well as the loyality to the team that you should have developed over the years. I've never been anything but a Chiefs fan and will never switch to another team.

I qualified the Montana year as an exception.

And are you serious?

Of course they weren't pretenders in '66-67 and '69-70.

They made it the SB, which is by definition not a pretender.

They were champions, which by defintion is gar more than contender.

That has to be the stupiest ****ing question ever.

And I'm still here rooting for them.

How does my different opinion of their contender status negate my loyalty?

What world do you live in? Clark Hunt is not going to sell the Chiefs.

The Chiefs are not moving.

And the owner is not the reason that the team can't meet your expectations.

Maybe your expectations are unrealistic considering the current situation.

Get used to what you have or find another team, it's really pretty easy.

If you are only a Chiefs fan for when they win the games and the occasional Super Bowl the might be a problem with the way you think.

Anybody who has supported this team and not had a playoff win in going on FIFTEEN years has a every right to be pessimistic when it comes to Carl and his failed plans. The proof is in the pudding and Carl's track record speaks for itself. He is a failure there is no getting around it.
