I was glancing around the User CP today and noticed that Kyle's quietly added a way to donate toward the server on a monthly basis without having to even think about it. You can become a "ChiefsPlanet Supporter" by going to your control panel and picking "Paid Subcriptions (http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/payments.php)" at the bottom of the list. Using that page, you can "subscribe" to ChiefsPlanet through PayPal, and it'll just deduct $10 from your account each month. If even 10-15 of us were to get this set up, I'm sure it would help Kyle tremendously with covering the server costs of this place.

I know that there are still quite a few things that need to be accomplished around here, but the expensive part is done, so I'm sure Kyle could use the help. I'm also confident that, between Kyle and morphius, we'll be in tip-top shape by the time we really need it (next season). And if not, I'll start griping about it all over again. :D

Is there a way to do that without a $10 monthly deduction? I'm down for supporting the site, but as a college student, a $10/mo automatic deduction at the wrong time could seriously **** me up.

We paycheck to paycheck guys tend to cut it close at times. That $10 could result in $35 overdraft fees if it hits at the wrong time.

I know that sounds pathetic, but... you know how it is some times... (maybe you don't. If not, congrats.)

Another drain from my account would be tough.

It's not like I couldn't afford the $10. Hell, I blow a lot of cash on entertainment. It's the timing, really. I'd like to have that under my control. Because... now and then.... things get really tight.

There's been a regular "donation" button in the menu bar in green for a LONG time now. Using that option, you can donate any amount you want, any time you want.

This is just an option for those of us who have been asking for a way to donate regularly in small amounts rather than as a one-time thing in large amounts.

Every time I use that Green Donate, and try to donate ZERO, it doesn't let me. WTF?!

They're paper with small numbers typed on them.

what happened to the suggested advertising "donation" links? Why didn't they make the switch over to the new board? I thought Kyle said onetime that if only a small amount of people (20-50 people, I don't remember) decided to browse the ads each day the site would actually make money.

For some reason they were causing the site to malfunction, not sure if they're coming back.
