Cubs win the World Series?

ROFL

You got the Detroit part right, but they'll beat somebody else to win it. Probably the Mets.

I'll admit that it's a bit of a homer prediction. Give me a break though it's the only time of year the Cubs faithful can talk about the WS. I noticed that you didn't weigh in on how the Cardinals will look this year though...:p

Picking the Red Sox to take it because of their staff; they have the arms to get past Detroit in a seven-game series.

Oh, and the Royals win 75 and again kick ass against the crappy NL Central (a division in which they'd finish second)

Of course, the Cubs play in the JV league. The Royals have to compete everyday against real teams.

Detroit over the Dodgers for the WS.

Verlander wins the AL Cy, Bondo has a nice comeback season, and the rest of the staff will be about league average.

The Baby Dodgers (Kemp, Bills, Martin, Loney, etc) will carry LA to the NL pennant, but will fall short against Detroit's nasty lineup.

Well I think a lot of people were hoping Donnie would move over and DeMario would take over his spot, but it looks like it's still Harris' job to lose.

I think Bills is going to be special. He was nasty last year when he finally got into the Starting Rotation.

The Royals have to compete everyday against real teams.

Man, the AL Central is tough, tough, TOUGH.

The Tigers only got better, and have one of the best lineups in baseball, not to mention fine pitching especially with Willis now. The Indians are still a solid team, no doubt about it, with two great, young pitchers and a decent Byrd.

The White Sox improved over the offseason, and have solid batters that, if live up to their talent, can lead the team to second place. The Royals improved and are young and getting better. I think they can make a move on third place if the Sox underachieve again. I'd love to see a third place finish for the Royals. And I honestly don't think it's a long shot.

The Twins are the only exception to what is a solid, competive division. It's going to be a fun year.

I'm going to say the Tigers beat the Red Sox for the pennant. Tigers have better overall bats with Cabrera now. And their pitching isn't too far behind.

He had great stats while playing for the Marlins. Now he's on a packed team. He'll have his usual .320+ average, 30-35 homers, 40 doubles, but now have 130+ RBIs, 120+ runs to go with them.

And he's a solid defensive third baseman.

A packed team is not always great. Its going to be hard with Magglio Ordonez knocking in 140 is not going to help I see 100--115 max RBI's.

And hes anything but a "solid defensive third baseman" Ive watched him here in FLA for the past few years.

Cabrera's not very good defensively. Maybe he improves his range a little after slimming down, but he still has bad lapses.

He's probably one of the top 3 hitters in baseball though.

JV League? I will admit that there has been a shift in talent to the AL recently that makes it superior currently. Designated Hitters still make it the Bitch League. It does not matter if the Royals would have been smart enough to switch Leagues when they had the chance to, they would still be a last place team over the past few years. ChiefsCountry knows his baseball.

Totally agree, and I hope this is the year he busts out since I picked him early for my fantasy team.

Young pitchers are so unpredictable, but he seems like he has the makings of an ace.

I predict I wont watch more than a couple innings of a game all season until the playoffs. Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if I don't watch 9 combined innings all season prior to the playoffs.

He's got a lot of errors - so I was wrong with saying "solid", but it sounds like Detroit sees him staying at third no problem. He's young and hasn't played it his whole life I guess.

He might've won the Cy Young last year if he pitched anywhere near as well as he did in the first half of last season. Then he had about 3 or 4 bad starts that really skewed his numbers.
