Uh shouldn't they be able to wear their hair however?
I'm sure long hair really affects how they play you know that Polamalu guy is only one of the best in the league.

That was a bullshit penalty. Obviously it's a safety hazard if you get pulled by the hair... possible neck injury of sorts. But that's why they have facemask penalties. And facemasks are an important part of the uniform. Hair is not.
I say if you want to wear your hair long, go ahead, but quit your bitching if people use it to bring you down. No penalties or anything should be assessed.

It wasn't a penalty to pull him down by the hair. The penalty was called because the tackler didn't let go and pulled him back up after he was down.

There are provisions in the CBA stating teams can't fine or penalize players for hair length or facial hair. Kind of stupid for KC to even raise the issue when there is nothing they can do about it.

Nope. Hair tackling is legal.

Actually, You can't hate Polamalu... I remember on that play, whoever tackled him got his hand stuck in his hair. The first person to come next to the tackler was Polamalu. The announcers thought that he was arguing for a penalty, then they realized that he was arguing against one, trying to explain to the announcers that the guys hand got stuck in that tangled mess. I don't think it looks good, but I think he has the right attitude about it.

It's nice the Chiefs are the only team that gives a rats ass about this, seeing as I think most teams could careless what a player looks like as long as he's good...
Maybe the Chiefs should be less concerned with hair and you know finding some good players.

Is this the 50's? NFL teams that are concerned with the appearance of players certainly don't have that "killer instinct" when it comes to fielding a team.
What's even more ridiculous is that especially in Polamalu's case, it's part of his culture to have long hair. It's not some type of protest (ala, "hippie") and for the black guys with dreads, it's fashion.
I truly wish the Chiefs front office would concentrate on the task at hand, which is to build a championship football team. JFC.

The Chiefs are always whining about something.

No, I get it. I just QFT.
IMO, the Chiefs have about one million and one higher priorities than the length of someone's hair.
As I said earlier, this isn't the 50's and trying to "control" a millionaire athlete's appearance is beyond ridiculous.

Furthermore, what's great about it is that they're not even make guys cut their hair... Just tuck it in there.
