Its all over the Cincy board that the upper management for the Bengals want Glenn Dorsey real bad and we would get their first round pick and a 4th round pick.

I say lets do it. We can still get Ryan Clady.

Actually I'd rather just have Dorsey.
Our line would be feared for years to come, and our safeties would look a lot better with the pressure they would apply.

If Dorsey is available you take him at #5, unless Dallas wants to give up both 1sts and its 2nd to move up for McFadden. Then you have a tough decision to make. Anything less than that take the DT from LSU.

We trade firsts give them a 4th, and they give us CJ.

Just a thought. Not really meant to be taken seriously.

It would take more than their 4th.

Indeed. There's 350 points they would have to make up to us. That's a late 2nd rounder.Their 4th is only worth 84 points. The closest any mention of a 4th comes into that trade would be our first and 4th (1796 points) for their first and 2nd (1840 points). We'd actually be 46 points ahead, but they get the player they covet.

Yea, and that would only be equal value. You don't trade, and let anyone get the player they want, unless you rape them. Especially when the player they want would make your D- line dominant.

Micjones

The #5 pick is worth 1700 points on the value chart.
Fair value would be their 9th and 55th overall picks.
That... I would do...

We could draft Rodgers-Cromartie in R1.
Anthony Collins & Chad Henne in R2.

Back away from the ledge.
Those are just three names. The point would be to have three picks in the opening two rounds.

If lets say Cincy were to trade up and swap picks with us, it has to be more then just their 1st and 4th? Especially if their jumping up 4 spots?

According to NFL trade draft value charts, the Chiefs pick is worth 1700 points, Cincy's is worth 1350 points. A difference of 350 points. That would be more then a 4th they'd have to give up if they to trade with us. Your probably looking at a 3rd, a 4th, and a 5th plus their 1st round pick.

anything that involves "Dorsey" and "trading down" is insane....especially if it involves "Clady" and "4th round pick"...

kcchiefsus

Yep, would definitely take more than a 4th. Especially since Cincy got 4 compensatory picks so it's not like they are hurting for picks. Hell, for us giving up the opportunity to get Dorsey if he was there I would expect a 2nd out of them.

Of course, I don't think Dorsey will be there though. I could still see them trading up for Ellis who in which case I would be happy for a 3rd in return.

Why in God's name would we give up the opportunity to draft Sedrick Ellis for a lousy 3rd round pick?

Hays

I doubt dorsey will be there for the chiefs at 5. A swap of 1sts and giving a 4th is not enough as posted earlier

I doubt they would give up a first and second round pick to move up to take him which is what would have to happen

The Chiefs would never trade down 4 spots and only get the 9th and an R4 in return. It's April 1.

I'm not opposed to drafting Dorsey.
That would make this Defensive Line scary good, but I'm more concerned with the Offensive Line right now.

Well, that's funny, 'cause a couple of weeks ago, there was an article about Cincy wanting to trade up to KC for Vernon Gholston and how Cincy was profoundly enamored by Gholston, not Dorsey.

Dorsey > most packages of trading down.

Their first and second could be a different story ... if the Chiefs didn't fugg up the two picks (i.e. Ryan Clady and some scrub in RD2).

If this was a deep draft, I could see the argument made for doing it for their second rounder, but given that there are 5-6 elite players and then a huge drop off, our pick is worth more than its alloted point total this year.

If Dorsey, Ellis, Long and Long were gone I'd consider trading down. If I got a good deal I'd do it in this scenario. But you have Ryan, McFadden, and Gholston who could be picked in the top four and knock one of those guys down, so this is unlikely.

There's nothing comical about loading up on talent when you have as many holes as this organization does. We can get an elite player at the 9 spot on the big board (Ellis). And add another potential starter in the following round. I've heard the argument that no one player will make or break this team all off-season. Three picks in the first two rounds would be great for this team.

R1. (#9) DT Sedrick Ellis
R2. (#35) WR Early Doucet
R3. (#55) CB Brandon Flowers

Nah...

f*ck that, I'd rather just have Dorsey. Maybe..maybe if it were swapping 1sts and them giving us their 2nd...maybe...still I think I'd rather just take Dorsey. Imagine JA, Dorsey and Hali for years to come, the whole entire defense would be a lot better.

So how many teams have to reach for that to happen?

Four?

Not to mention, the team we'd be trading with is going to want him. They'd be trading up to TAKE Ellis if Dorsey is gone.

Chris Long
Jake Long
Vernon Gholston
Glenn Dorsey
Darren McFadden
Matt Ryan
Leodis McElvin

Could all go ahead of Ellis.
And of those 8 I think you could only consider the two Corners "reaches".
And even then they'd only be reaching maybe 3-4 slots tops.
