Here it is folks, my second attempt at harnassing my psychic ability.

KAN: Bannister (0-0, 0.00 ERA)
DET: Rogers (0-0, 0.00 ERA)

I say we knock the Gambler around a little today. Butler has three hits, including a double. Final score Royals 8 - Detroit 3.

We win this one and we're in the playoffs for sure.

I have a question maybe somebody could answer for me.

Is Fox MW the same as FoxKC? If not, did they just create another station for KC?

The reason I ask is I have the Fox sports package through Dish, but they don't list a FoxKC, but a MW (midwest). I called them about it, and they (as usual) didn't know, but would follow up with an "official" request for me.

When it comes to the Royals, I hate living in Des Moines.

No TV unless I possibly want to subscribe to a satellite service.

My radio affiliate is a local Catholic station . Today, rather than broadcast the game, they have opted to air a stupid little family-oriented christian talk show where today's topic is dealing with a newborn baby, with a couple pediatric nurses available to field questions from concerned stay-at-home moms.

bannister's 2007 was good return for burgos even if he keels over of a heart attack today. that being said, i think he may regress some this year. a lot of people say hes a fly ball pitcher and really got some breaks last year to finish with the numbers he had.

i dont think he stinks, far from it. there have been a lot of guys who didnt have much stuff who pitched by using control and outsmarting hitters. but i think he might fall back a little.

that being said i like banny, he seems like a great guy in interviews and stuff. go royals, get us one today.

Oh ya, I am blacked out for mlb's KC Royals internet tv broadcast also.

Iowa is the Bermuda Triangle of baseball television. Games get beamed into the state and disappear because we are the most black-out state in the country. Six teams all claim Iowa as their market, which means that we could potentially be blacked out of up to 12 games, leaving us to watch the other 3 or 4. I think there was actually a day or two a while back where it just worked out that literally every single game was under blackout restrictions in Iowa.

Any of you listening to the game on the radio? I signed onto mlb.com gameday audio, and both broadcasts (Det and KC) are horribly unlistenable, with some kind of loud static electronic interference obscuring the voices . Its not my computer, I'm wondering if the online feed is horribly flawed, or if the on-air broadcast is screwed up.

the way they did it last year was if the cardinals were playing and the Royals were too at the same time they would play the cardinals on TV. I'm asking him - that just sounds crazy.

Personally I have DTV with the MLB package, so I get MOST of the Royals games (if the Royals are playing Tampa it probably won't even be televised, or at least that was the case last year). There is an HD option for the MLB package, but at this point it's only a handful of games played per day, and you can bet your ass it'll concentrate exclusively on games featuring Boston, New York and LA 4321 so I won't waste my time with it.

I tinkered with it and apparently I had to update some kind of program called silverlight. Not that mlb's program told me that or anything, I just randomly right-clicked something, saw the program name, browsed to it, and updated the software to the new version just to try anything.

Seems unlucky, too. Left St. Louis for Boston AFTER Boston swept the Cards in the WS. The year he goes to Boston, Boston does nothing. Then the next year the Cards win the WS without him. Goes to Atlanta, and they do nothing while he's there. Then he gets shipped off to Detroit.

If the Braves win the WS, we'll know he's officially cursed.

renteria has had problems with the glove in the past. i know they hated him in boston for making tons of errors. and he doesnt hit .330 every year, he's right at .300. that's pretty good but .330 is a lot different

Well, either he's cursed, then... or he's the secret key to guarantee a WS once the team releases him.

So is this year a repeat of 2003??

If that means a 9-0 start, followed by a 16-3 record and followed by a 7 and half game lead in mid-July, then sign me up for 2003 Part II

Only difference is you give this team (which has slowly but steadily been improving under Dayton Moore's leadership) those numbers, they just may be able to keep the lead.... should it be deja vu.

Look, every year a surprise team emerges. In 2003, Kansas City was that team. It can happen again. Even when Atlanta started their ridiculous run in 1991, they were a doormat for years before then and no one saw it coming.

From the looks of how well their pitching staff has started the season, it's very encouraging... especially when it's happened on the road against a team that is widely considered to have a tremendous offense and an excellent chance to win the pennant.

They've already made a nice statement by taking the series already... but sweep them and they'll send notice to the baseball world just who may be this year's surprise team!

Bannister regressing?

"If we got shut out by someone who was hanging breaking balls and leaving pitches in the middle of the plate, I'd be concerned," Tigers manager Jim Leyland said. "But when a guy locates like he did today, that's the way it goes. You aren't going to wear out good pitching that locates. You've got to take advantage of mistakes, and we didn't do that."

How does that quote imply Bannister was regressing? Sounds like Leyland was very impressed with Bannister and disappointed they didn't take advantage of Bannister's few mistakes.

Not that it means anything, it's 2 out of 162, but it's still nice to see them win a road series in April, much less the first one.
