American people have the highest rate of colon-rectal cancer of all the nations in the world. It now accounts for more deaths of Americans than ever before in history. Most people think it's a dirty or embarrassing subject, but cancer and death are worse. By maintaining the health of your colon can help to significantly improve your health overall and limit the occurrence of chronic constipation (http://allonhealth.com/natural-cure-constipation.htm) and diarrhea.

It was a bit weird hearing your friend talking about how wonderful the enema's feel, was a bit concerning. He said it was calming and relaxing.

Why is cleaning your colon important?

The body's immune system is the first line of defense against almost all infections and diseases. If your body has a strong immune system you will be less prone to infection. Pretty astonishing news for those with an under functioning colon.

The purpose of the cleanse is to remove the toxins from the fat, muscle, blood, and internal organs, that have accumulated naturally over a period of years. This is how you prevent disease.

When you do a cleanse, you loosen up and flush out this accumulated waste and poison, and it has to flow out of the elimination channels, especially the colon and kidneys.

Clean organs means good health and the bowel is the best place to begin.

Home Remedy No-No Number 5: Home Colon Cleansing

"We hear a lot about the toxic effects of the contents of the colon on the body," says Robert Siegel, MD, a fellow with the American College of Gastroenterology. "But that's a fallacy."

And that's where home colon cleansing products come into play. People hear the claims that their colons are filled with toxic waste matter and that the solution is to flush them out with herbs, probiotics, special diets, enemas, or laxatives.

The fact of the matter is that the colon is a waste receptacle, explains Siegel. Its function is to let fecal material pass out of the body, naturally.

Trying to cleanse your colon from the comforts of your home can disrupt your body's electrolyte balance, causing dehydration and salt depletion. Over time, frequent colon cleansing can even lead to anemia, malnutrition, and heart failure.

Instead of cleaning your colon on your own, start by increasing your fiber intake by eating more fruits and vegetables , or by adding a supplement to y our diet -- 38 grams for men and 25 grams for women 50 and younger -- every day.

If you're still feeling constipated and uncomfortable, Siegel recommends you
see your primary care doctor or a gastroenterologist.

I sat down and released everything in the universe. I was Shiva: creator, destroyer, preserver of worlds. Or possibly I was Shiva's less successful brother Shitva: crapper, defiler, and pooper of worlds. I passed the entire energy of the cosmos through my cornhole, which left it a bit sore and chafed. In the end, I had nothing left in the end. I had factory showroom intestines, buffed to a high-gloss finish. My bum was so empty you could eat off it, which would be deliciously ironic.

It's one of the 'in things', Movie Stars, Sportsmen even Politicians are talking about having an Enema, but what is it, is it healthy, is it pleasurable?
One point I must make, this is not a 'how to' guide, before undertaking any such procedure I would advise you consult your local medical adviser first.

Basically it is the cleansing of the colon and large intestine, it involves the injection of a solution into the rectum to soften the feces, distend the colon and rectum, and thereby cause the easy emptying of the bowel. Although its all the fashion at the moment, its actually one of the oldest medical procedures and has been practiced by most cultures throughout history. In fact its only within the last fifty years that the regular practice of Enema's has decreased, this mainly by the onslaught of chemical enema's and laxatives from the pharmaceutical industry. Everyone from the Greek's and Egyptians to the Kings of France have extolled the virtues and health benefits of Enema's. The use of enema's today can be broadly split into two areas, one for medical and health reasons, the other for pleasure and erotic practices.

Let's deal with the traditional health benefits first, and have a quick look at your colon. Its main function together with your lungs, skin and kidneys is the elimination of toxins in the intestines, blood and lymph systems. Among its most important functions are the colon are the absorption of water and minerals, and the formation and elimination of feces, so if your colon is blocked it cuts down or stops these functions. A recent survey in the United States showed after surgery where the colon was examined, there was on average over a pound of undigested or impacted meat in the colon. Meat that was unable to move and consequently it rotted and released poisons into the blood stream. Not a good idea so by use of diet or other procedures keeping the colon clean helps maintain a healthy body.

The solution that is usually used in enemas is warm water, but surprisingly there are many solutions that can be used, these solutions are often called 'recipes'. They include Coffee, Beer, Epsom Salts, Limon Juice, Ivory Soap. Each recipe can have a slightly different effect and result on your body, so it is always best to do much research before using a new or untried recipe.
The following is just a short paragraph in the use of enemas from a sexual point as this article can be read by minors, if you wish for more information there is plenty available on specialist Internet sites.

Certainly the biggest growth interest in enema's has been for sexual pleasure itself and the use before sexual acts. Willing partners are far more adventurous in performing Anal sexual acts than in previous years and the application of an enema before can aid not only in eliminating health hazards but heightening the pleasure of the act.

There is wide spread agreement by both the traditional and alternative therapy professions that the cleansing of the colon and intestines by enemas can be both beneficial and invigorating, but it is best to be well advised and researched before trying any procedures yourself.

The colon (large intestine), is the end portion of the human digestive tract. The colon is approximately 5 to 5½ feet long and 2½ inches in diameter. Its major functions are to conserve water in the body... and to eliminate waste from the body. There are "friendly" bacteria living in the healthy colon which synthesize valuable nutrients such as vitamins 'K' and portions of the 'B' complex. But unfortunately...
The average American does not have a healthy colon!
I'll bet you didn't know that the average person -- one who is neither overweight, nor noticeably allergic to things -- may have 10 to 25 pounds of dried fecal matter in their colon! But that's for someone who is at normal weight for their height and age...
If you're overweight or a highly allergic person...
You might be carrying around a lot more than that!
The typical American diet, consisting of high-fat, low-fiber, refined junk foods... including flour, meat, fat, sugar, alcohol, preservatives and toxins, is the primary reason the colon becomes so unhealthy. The toxins generated from accumulated waste matter in the colon, are responsible for many body imbalances... which can lead to very serious weight and health problems!

Furthermore, the average American diet includes less than a fraction of the fiber foods necessary to promote elimination of toxins from the body. Poor diet, improper food-combining and lack of dietary fiber make maintenance of a healthy colon virtually impossible. As a consequence . . .

It is very common to find people with unhealthy and weakened digestive systems!
“Virtually all weight challenges can be traced to imbalances in the
colon/digestive tract as either a primary contributor... or a secondary
problem which accentuates slowdowns in other critical body systems, like the endocrine (glandular) system and the circulatory system.”

I've always thought, whenever I see pictures on T.V. of extreme poverty and starvation around the world - all those people need is a good colon/digestive tract condition to help them get back up to optimal body weight.

Colorectal Cancer

Colon Cleansing & Cancer Risk
(Interview with Bernard Levin, M.D., June 3, 2003)

They’re everywhere. Ads on television, on the Internet and in newspapers tout the virtues of colon cleansing supplements as a way to prevent colorectal cancer. Some of them even have graphic pictures of the “results” produced by taking these alternative remedies. Do colon cleansing products and processes reduce one’s cancer risk?

In a word, no. “It’s all nonsense,” says Bernard Levin, M.D., vice president for cancer prevention at M. D. Anderson. “It’s all about selling products for an exorbitant amount of money that you can buy over the counter for very little - if you even need them at all.”

Among the claims made by colon cleansing products are:

* A typical person has anywhere from a few ounces to several pounds of undigested red meat in their colon, which causes mucous buildup on the colon walls
* This mucous buildup produces toxins that may increase the colon cancer risk or lead to other diseases if not removed
* Regular bowel movements are not enough to clear out the colon
* A “dirty” colon can adversely affect the body’s lymphatic system
* Using a colon cleanser is the only way to remove mucous buildup and reduce cancer risk

There are at least two colon cleansing methods being advertised by dozens of manufacturers. Powdered or liquid supplements irritate the colon wall, forcing it to slough off hardened mucous, which is eliminated through a series of bowel movements. Colonic irrigation, also known as high colonics, works much like an enema by flushing large amounts of water through the colon to loosen and remove buildup.

“We don’t even know the long-term effects of constant purging with colonic irrigation and supplements,” Levin says. “If these people have a safe, effective product as they claim, they need to prove it. Do a research trial - don’t go on the Internet and sell sweatshirts.”

Levin, an internationally recognized colorectal cancer expert, says the colon is a complex, dynamic organ that is constantly shedding old cells - a process that rarely needs any help. He concedes that laxatives can help ease constipation, if used properly. “Chronic use of laxatives to cleanse the colon is not a good idea, since some drugs can alter the colon lining or upset the intricate balance of chemicals and bacteria.”

When striving for a healthy colon, it’s all about what goes into your body. “There’s no doubt that diet has a lot to do with what’s in the colon,” Levin says. “If you’re eating a lot of red meat and fat, it’s not as good for you in general. The way to avoid or mitigate the effects of an unhealthy diet is not to change what’s in the colon, but to change what comes in the front end.”

The bottom line is that colon cleansers don’t do anything to lower your risk of colon cancer. “A healthy diet (low in red meat and fat and high in fruits, vegetables, fiber and calcium), exercise, drinking in moderation and avoiding tobacco are the known elements that reduce colon cancer risk, “ Levin says. “Know your family history, and get screened earlier than age 50 if colon cancer runs in your family.” For the rest of us, he emphasizes, “begin screening at age 50 by any of the recommended methods. Please do not die of embarrassment.”

Dunno if anybody remembers, but I had a thread about my first colonoscopy last fall. I'll just say that I'd rather have drugs for drinking that shit rather than the surgery :Lin: Oh, and I was knocked out for most of it... kind of upset, because some of those stories about the drugs they give you made me all excited. Eh, whatever.

Luckily I had nothing wrong. Doctor told me this procedure would help to keep me clean for a long time. In the meantime, I should help it along by eating 4-5 fruits per day and keeping off fatty complex starches like pizza and white bread. So far it's worked brilliantly.

I haven't had to use a Fleet enema since, but at least I know that if I do need to, those are the safest methods to "clean house". And that's a much better method than suppositories or laxatives.

You sound like the cop that was also in Fast Times At Ridgemont High on the stakeout. His line had to do with the average male having 15 lbs. of undigested meat in their bodies when they die.

That was one of the best scenes of that movie.
