I'd go 1-3 MAYBE 0-4.

Right.

Anyone who thinks the Chiefs will be 2-2 to start the season is not only smokin' crack, they've apparently forgotten the fact that the starting QB has NEVER won a game in the NFL, the Pro-Bowl running back is coming off an injury plagued season and the offensive line is in complete and utter shambles.

If the Chiefs win more than 3 games this upcoming season, I'll be overjoyed.

That's to say, two teams with the same record as us in '07, and another that was all of 7-9.

It's not like we're talking about going 2-2 against the Patriots, Colts, Chargers and Steelers...

And making a prediction that we start 2-2 doesn't mean you necessarily think they'll end 8-8, it's about the actual games and the teams they play. Warpaint is WRONG because KC can not open in San Diego during the day b/e that would require a 3:00 CBS which CAN NOT happen because CBS televises the US Open Men's Final (Tennis) on that day. SD could open @ home but their opponent would be either Carolina or ATL (games that would air on FOX).

I'm sorry but I find it EXTREMELY unlikely that the Chiefs will win 2 or more of their first 4 games.

Croyle hasn't won a game as a starter. The offensive line sucks. The PB running back missed most of last season. The Pro Bowl starting defensive end may hold out.

Regardless of how poor the Raiders, Broncos and Falcons were last season, none of those teams lost their final 8 games. Not to the mention the fact that the Chiefs have (wisely) not signed any sure-fire free agents.

This is going to be the longest season since probably 1977 (if ever).

We have the AFC West and NFC West this year. In truth, it's a pretty soft schedule overall. AFC East should be moderately better this year, but only because it could hardly get any worse. Jets and Dolphins had like 5 wins TOTAL last year or whatever.

We have the AFC West and NFC West this year. In truth, it's a pretty soft schedule overall. AFC East should be moderately better this year, but only because it could hardly get any worse. Jets and Dolphins had like 5 wins TOTAL last year or whatever.

Looking at that schedule, the Pats have a realistic shot at another 16-0 season. The Colts game will of course be the biggest threat (again), but it sure wouldn't shock me.

Especially with another superb draft.

because the chiefs are not bad enough to go 0-16 so they will beat someone, leaving the falcons and raiders as obvious choices

We'll see about that.

I could easily see the Chiefs losing their first 7 games, making them 0-16 for the last 16 games.

I think some people around here have already forgotten how truly horrific the Chiefs were last season.

Not to mention the overall lack of talent.

Honestly, apathy for the Chiefs is at an all-time low over the last 20 years. It wouldn't shock me if we did something completely unexpected like beating New England. It's about time for us to do something out of the ordinary. This team has become way too predictable. Last year no one expected us to beat San Diego in San Diego and it happened. I guess we'll see. We'd still probably go 1-15 though.

I laid out our opponents PF/PA and the difference between the two below. All the teams above the Chiefs were worse than us last season, while those below were better. While the table is not Scientifically sound, (I.E. blowout games for or against) maybe avg. PF/PA per game would have been better, but too time consuming for me. Anyway, you can see that the worst three teams we play this season all pick ahead of us in the draft. Also, all the teams on THIS list, with a (-) point total difference, had a losing record last season, while all the teams with (+) in the point total difference had winning seasons(Actually throughout the league this is pretty accurate).

Team - scored(+) / allowed(-) .......Total difference (+/-)

Miami - 267 / 437 .................. -170

Atlanta - 259 / 414 .................. -155

Oakland - 283 / 398 .................. -115

Kansas City - 226 / 335 .................. -109

Buffalo - 252 / 354 .................. -102

Denver - 320 / 409 .................. -89

New York - 268 / 355 .................. -87

Carolina - 267 / 347 .................. -80

New Orleans - 379 / 388 .................. -9

Cincinnati - 380 / 385 .................. -5

Tennessee - 301 / 294 .................. +7

Tampa Bay - 334 / 270 .................. +64

San Diego - 412 / 284 .................. +128

New England - 589 / 274 .................. +315

Point is, Oakland did score more than the Chiefs, but also gave up more points. So when it comes to PF and PA, both Oakland and Miami were worse than the Chiefs. Meanwhile Denver bested the Chiefs by 30 points, that's 3 TD's and 3 FG's. Doesn't seem to be too daunting to me. All the Chiefs have to do is get a little bit better than their opponents do.

Who's moves will pay off? Who made costly mistakes? Whether the Chiefs get better or worse remains to be seen, same thing rings true for each and every team we play. Hopefully, things will lean the the right way for Kansas City. I won't hold my breathe...but I also know I can't wait to see.

If we draft Dorsey or Ellis: 1-3 with a slight chance at 2-2.

If we draft Ryan, or reach for some f*cktard OT: 0-4 (with a chance to be 0-5 after 4 games just because of how brutally we've been raped).

We are not a good team, at all. Just becuase you cant handle it, doesnt mean others cant. I wish we could go 16-0, but the Chiefs just are not good. Its not going to be turned around until at least 2009. IF we happen to somehow start playing well, then great. I just dont see it. I think the only team we can beat right now is Atlanta. Even then, it will be a tough game for the Chiefs.

Hi Dane,
I seem to have hit a nerve. I live in the Valley, bad side of the tracks. I never said I didn't like you. Unfortunately, you have given me the impression that you're an effected, egomaniac that thinks people are going to be impressed by you just because you're in the "industry." You give us Californians a bad name. People like you are a dime a dozen out here. The sooner you realize that, the better off you'll be. Hi Dane,
I seem to have hit a nerve. You're so transparent, you give those of us that are in the "industry" just trying to make a living a bad name. Dude it's only a job, like any other job. Here's hoping you'll remember your past. Get off of your high horse. I know you don't think so, but your shit stinks like everyone else.
Love,
bogey
