Bale and Hochevar have been starting the same days, so this could work out nicely...

The Royals placed John Bale on the 15-day DL Thursday due to left shoulder fatigue, the Kansas City Star confirms. Bale reported a "dead arm" following his last start. Reliever Joel Peralta was called up to take his roster spot. Bale was scheduled to start this Sunday.

Our View: The Royals haven't said who will start on Sunday, but signs point to former No. 1 overall pick Luke Hochevar. If the prospect pitches well, Bale might not get his spot back.

I didn't expect it for another month, but I don't think it would be a bad idea. He had a great spring training and he's gradually stretched the innings out in his minor league starts.

I'm going to be pretty elated if Peralta stays, and they release Nomo to callup Hochevar. hang it up Nomo, you're done.

Why not? He can't look any worse than Bale looked in his last couple of outings. He's gotta learn to pitch up here sometime, so bring him on, I say.

So does Bale move to the pen, as middle relief after injury?

might not hurt.. we could probably use another long-relief arm in the pen
