now, please keep in mind this would probably never happen...

but what if we completed the JA trade and where able to use the additional picks to leap up a couple spots in the draft to grab a Jake Long...

then would you favor the JA trade?

Hell, I have tried to formulate a post that would describe my absolute disgust with that scenario, but I just can't find the words.

Approval isn't really required. The trade will either happen or not, whether I like it or not. And while, personally, I think it's the right move, my believing that doesn't necessarily make it so.

That said, as big a Jake Long fan as I am, trading up is the last thing this franchise needs. The chiefs need both quality and quantity.

No thanks.

The Chiefs have so many needs and considering the top 4 or 5 guys are all rated pretty much the same (no consensus #1 pick) , it would be pointless.

I want Jake Long, but no. Trade down. We need 15-20 starters out of this draft.

Using pick 5 on the BPA + trading down wiith pick 17 to grab extra picks and still being able to draft Chris Williams or Gosder Cherlius or someone > using the extra picks to move up for Jake Long.

Not if your packaging the 17th pick. If its just the 3rd maybe. but that only gets us a spot or 2. Definately not 2 firsts to move up. BTW i'd take either Long for the cost of a 3rd to move up.

that was my thought... an extra 3rd, not the 17th.

No way I'd trade up this year. Too many needs.

We won't get the deal the boys got with Walker but we can still use Allen's picks to jumpstart that process. I keep hearing how we won't be in the playoffs this season anyway. Why? We were in 75% of our games in the 4th quarter last year. I can think of two of them we should have won.

How much difference would LJ being healthy and just one extra O lineman that could block have made last year?

We'll definitely have weak areas next year but they don't have to be so ovewhelming they drown out our strengths. Use the many pics we have and take a short distance trade down if we get the chance...

The miracle I'm holding out for is being able to actually watch the draft next weekend. Would be the first time in four years.

The humor of the draft is all the weird shit we talk about in between picks.

I remember calling Arizona dumbasses several times for taking Levi Brown over Adrian Peterson.
