We've heard the offer before, so let's put it to the ChiefsPlanet test:

Vikings get Jared Allen.

Chiefs get the Vikes' 1st round pick and a 3rd rounder in 2008, and a 2nd rounder in 2009.

Yay or nay.

If they hard nose me, probably. But only at the last possible moment.

I think they'll break here in the next few days, but that's my hunch. It seems they want him pretty bad.

IN a heartbeat i pull the trigger on that.

Yesterday.

Tampa doesn't have the picks to pull it off without crippling their own draft.

Serves them right for signing Faine. Dirty pricks.

If it's pick #73 in the 3rd round.

I would take it and then send him alcohol weekly.. Hopefully they only win one game all year and our second round pick is #33..

I would try until friday to get a 1st and a 2nd. If they dont budge then I take the 1st the 3rd and a 2nd next year.

Only if they dont budge, it might be givin in, but we need those picks.

Did Pacman Jones back down when those bouncers told him to clear out? NO! Sometimes a man has to stand proud and tall and fight the madness. Or the bouncers or whatever.

Completely depends on how much interest I am truly getting from other clubs.

If rumored teams like Tampa, Philly, New England, etc are interested and may be willing to offer more if talks escalate, I might hold off for a bit.

But if I know that if Minny offers the best chance to complete a trade, I take this offer and am happy about it.

I'm with RainMan.

If they want to sign him to contract, I'd do everything within reason to match the deal. If we truly couldn't match the contract, I guess I'd take the future 1st rounders.

26 year old pro bowlers are worth a whole lot...

IF Miny's offer is the only one on the table then yes, if there's genuine interest in Allen from several other clubs I'd wait until I got a better offer, or sometime around pick 10 of the first round to accept.

Its too early to say. Why trade a guy before you know what he's worth? Why trade your top defensive guy before you know what's going to happen in the draft? JA is going to be far more productive in the league than CP. This kind of deal goes up until the last minute.

He doesn't want to be here it seems so I'd make the trade. Since we are in a two year rebuilding project and we're doing it the proper way through the draft IMO the picks have more value then Allen.

I wouldn't, and I would of signed up to a long term deal. But since he said he won't resign if didn't get a big contract this year, yes do it.

No offense, but we're Chiefs fans. These are the only things that we can get excited about.

I say thee Nay!

If I'm Clark Hunt, I keep Allen in R&G. And if the reason Allen doesn't want to stay in KC is CP, I fire CP to keep him here.

Allen is worth more to my franchise in the next 5 years than Peterson is.

Mr. Laz

i'd rather trade Carl Peterson ..... but the deal isn't bad.

I'd rather have Allen backs and my second choice is to hold out for the full two 1sts, but...

if I'm convinced that Allen will live up to his word that he will never sign a long term deal with the Chiefs, I'll take this deal on the day of the draft sometime.

What he said was that if he plays a game while under the tag he won't sign long term. There have been no games since we put the tag on him so this is a non-issue at this time.

If we're going to do it, there's absolutely no reason to do it until we know exactly who we will get at #5. For that matter, if the #5 spot is used on a player other than DE, we could even go so far as having the luxury of seeing who's there at #17.

From everything I've read on this board this past week, you'd be an idiot not to make the trade. I've read Allen is overrated, he can't play the run, he's a drunkard, he shows up to games drunk, he's immature, he's asking for a gazillion dollars, he raps worse than Bowe, he'll suck ass in two years when the Chiefs are finally good. Chirst, I can't imagine why a team would give more than a 4th round pick for such a player.

See that is the thing. Maybe I have missed it, but I don't think JA has a problem with KC, his agent has a bruised ego from CP. I think if the money was right, JA would remain near his new watering hole.

Just because we suck, hence making him a jerk?Yeah, because we suck, but I wouldn't say that makes him a jerk. If you can go play somewhere with a better chance of winning, go for it. I think maybe he sees Tony Gonzalez and thinks "is this really where I want to be when I'm in my early 30s?"

Just a theory...

If this team was on the verge of competing , it might be a wiser bet to gamble on him.

The Chiefs need all the young talent they can stockpile at this time.
