Keep in mind though, the Coach in Nebraska was Callahan, who isn't exactly a great role model for the young players as well.

He was banned from Pro day by Pelini. Apparently being arrested wasn't the first time he'd been warned about behavior. Couldn't find much detail, but something about not attending meetings.

Wait.

So which is it?

Practice squad to develop players, or on the 53 man roster?

With the exception of a QB if you need to develop a player stick him on the practice squad.

Lilja didn't need that he should have been on the 53 man roster. When the Colts got him didn't he come in and start?

8. CARL NICKS, Nebraska (6-5, 341, 5.22, 2-5) - Described by Polian as "more of a road-grader type," Nicks has been to three schools and started at LT for one season only at Nebraska. "Whatever you can get, that's what he's got," one scout said. "He's lazy. Malcontent. Resistant to authority. Criminality. Divorced with kids. He transferred. Anything you would not want a guy to have, he has it all. Talented, but a mess." The best tackle at the Senior Bowl. "If he were Williams personality-wise or Long, he might be the best of them all other than Long," another scout said. Scored 18 on the Wonderlic. "He is talented, dude, but we're not going to touch him," a third scout said. "He's too smart for his own britches. He's not a professional. He'll always be on the edge."

He's listed on Nebraska's team page as 25. I'll took their word rather than just some random newspaper.

That's the original problem!! They used the same website to write the pamphlet for the combine, and then the agent sent the info to all the teams that he isn't that old!

Overview

Carr was a three-year starter and a two-year All-American for perennial Division II power Grand Valley State. He brought in 11 interceptions over the past three years and broke up another 37 passes during that time. He has a ways to go before competing for a starting or nickel back position, but his upside is high enough to warrant a late-round selection.

Carr was a three-year starter and a two-year All-American for perennial Division II power Grand Valley State. He has a ways to go before competing for a starting or nickel back position, but his upside is high enough to warrant a late-round selection.

Positives: Prototypical size for corner, tall with decent build and nice arm span … Shows good hands for the interception and can high-point the ball … Turns and runs with receivers well, showing good speed and the ability to maintain position … Plays in the slot at times, but is best on the outside.

Negatives: A better athlete than football player … Does not play as physically or aggressively as you'd like with his size … He does not press much and is only adequate coming up in run support or getting off receiver blocks … Marginal backpedal, and plays a bit high … Rough transition against smaller, quicker receivers.

6 (105) Kansas City Chiefs Will Franklin WR Missouri
Murphy: Franklin stays in-state and brings a wealth of speed to the Chiefs; he ran 4.37 in workouts. He is a little inconsistent at times with his hands/routes, but is a good choice at this point. The Chiefs are having the best draft thus far.

5 (140) Kansas City Chiefs Brandon Carr CB GRAND VALLEY ST
Murphy: Carr is a versatile small-school defender that is viewed as a free safety type that ran 4.4's at his workouts. He is a little stiff in man-to-man coverage, but has shown very good ball skills at his level.

NFL Draft Prospect Interview: Brandon Carr, CB, Grand Valley St.
by Michael Abromowitz, 4/18/08. Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie may be the consensus top cornerback from the lower ranks of college football, but the 2nd best CB may be Brandon Carr from division 2 powerhouse Grand Valley St. Carr had a successful pro day and has already met with the Chiefs and Bengals. Look for him to be a late round sleeper.

TheFootballExpert.com: What is your accurate height, weight and forty time?

Brandon Carr: 6’0, 205lbs, 4.43

TheFootballExpert.com: Describe your game in three words or less.

Brandon Carr: Smart, technician, battler

TheFootballExpert.com: What do you feel is your greatest strength as a football player and what area do you feel you need to improve in?

Brandon Carr: My greatest strength is the ability to play multiple coverages and technique. I always feel there is room for improvement in technique. I am going to be playing against the elite and technique is a must.

TheFootballExpert.com: What NFL player do you do you think you compare favorably to?

Brandon Carr: Champ Bailey

TheFootballExpert.com: Who is the best player you have faced during your college football career?

Brandon Carr: Eric Fowler in practice

TheFootballExpert.com: What is your greatest football moment to date?

Brandon Carr: Winning the 2006 National Championship

TheFootballExpert.com: Did you have a favorite pro team growing up? Favorite player?

Brandon Carr: Growing up I was a Dallas Cowboys fan, but my new favorite team will be the one that wants me to come play for them. My favorite player was Deion Sanders

TheFootballExpert.com: How instrumental was Head Coach Martin in your progression?

Brandon Carr: Coach Martin instilled in me the mindset that anything is possible. He stressed the importance of selling out each play and just giving it your all.

TheFootballExpert.com: What have former college teammates now in the NFL told you about preparing for the league?

Brandon Carr: They have told me to just keep working hard and stay focused. I talk to former teammate Derrick Jones weekly and he gives me some insight on what to expect at the next level. They told me to not get caught up in the “life”. The most important thing to do once I get there is to learn the playbook.

TheFootballExpert.com: When you get your first professional paycheck what is the first thing you will buy?

Brandon Carr: I am not much of a material man. I have a 1-year-old daughter and I want her to be taken care of. I have been thinking about getting the best insurance policy and to start her a savings account.

TheFootballExpert.com: How have you been preparing for the NFL Draft?

Brandon Carr: I will continue to do what I have been doing for years and that is WORK! I still have something to prove. I have to prove that even though I came from a D2 school, I can compete with the best of them.

TheFootballExpert.com: Do you have any goals in mind when it comes to the NFL Draft?

Brandon Carr: Since the summer of the 2006 season my goal was to put myself in a position to where I would be a possible draft pick.

TheFootballExpert.com: What is the one thing you will most miss at college?

Brandon Carr: Fellowshipping with various different cultures of people.

TheFootballExpert.com: Where is the best place to get a bite to eat in Allendale, MI?

Brandon Carr: There are two places I have in mind, Uccello’s or Peppino’s. I know Uccello’s has a good lunch buffet.

TheFootballExpert.com: What was your favorite college course and why?

Brandon Carr: My favorite college course was psychology because I got an understanding of how the mind works and why people do certain things.

TheFootballExpert.com: Any pregame rituals? Food? Music?

Brandon Carr: I’m not too much of a superstitious person. The one “must” is that I listen to a song by an artist from my hometown (1000 Bars). The song is called Right Here.

TheFootballExpert.com: What is something football fans may not know about you?

Brandon Carr: They may not know that I love singing.

TheFootballExpert.com: Do you read mock drafts or listen to what draft experts have to say?

Brandon Carr: Yes I look at all of that when I have some time to spare. It’s more of a motivational tool.

TheFootballExpert.com: What was the last good movie you saw?

Brandon Carr: The last good movie I saw was Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins.

TheFootballExpert.com: What do you plan to do once your playing career is over?

Brandon Carr: I want to someday own my own business. I also want to be able to enjoy life and be there for my family.

TheFootballExpert.com: Thanks for taking the time to answer some questions and good luck!

Brandon Carr: No problem, I appreciate you taking the time to ask me questions.

Pittsburgh, hands down. Dallas #3, but I hated the Felix Jones choice.

Should we really be surprised?????

I was making a stupidly obvious observation, going for that "you are so dumb that even retards make fun of you" humor.

Don't get down about the Carr pick. I've seen him play multiple times; he's a good athlete with good coverage instincts.

Get this on another site - these Rams fans are arguing with me that the Rams are more popular in Missouri than the Chiefs.

You have to remember StL has an insecurity issue....you should live in Columbia. Talk about a schizophrenic town....half of them are Rams/Cards fans and the other half are Chiefs/Royals fans.

I'm not down on picking him. I'm down on picking him when it seemed likely he'd slip to the 6th or 7th.

There's not much secretive about him. He has ideal size, speed, and athleticism for a pro CB. He plays physical and is a good fit for Cover 2. He did go to a D2 program and is still raw, so that's why he's a late 2 pick.

You don't know that he would have been there in the 6th. Teams have been jumping on corners all day.
