Well shit. I doubt he'd have a PC if his intentions were to stay another year.

Yeah I'd say he's gone, but you Hawks hope. Blake Griffin had a presser to announce he was staying and he was projected to be in the top 10. With the players coming in they will still be good. When they start really getting after the 09' kids with Self being the National Champions coach their talent is going to get even better than what its been.

At a press conference Wednesday afternoon in Hadl Auditorium, Kansas University junior guard Mario Chalmers declared himself a candidate for the 2008 NBA Draft. With the announcement, he joins teammates Darrell Arthur and Brandon Rush in the draft pool.
Chalmers has opted to not yet sign with an agent, just like Arthur, leaving the door open to return for the 2008-09 season.

I guess there will only be one Mario on the team next year. At least we wont have to have a Mario C. and a Mario L.

I'm guessing one or both of Arthur and Chalmers are gone for good. Now if KU can only find one more player out there that wants to play for lowly KU...

ouch...this one hurts any potential repeat scenario....

Oh well.....I have a five year grace period now where nothing will bother me!

Not even Carl Peterson!

WOW, talk about reloading AGAIN!

That is what happens when you win the NC with all the talent KU had... Oh well, time to enjoy watching Coach Self reload this team and start a new run at the NC...

The Kansas City Star
LAWRENCE | The hero of Kansas' NCAA championship will test the NBA waters.
KU junior guard Mario Chalmers, whose late three-pointer forced overtime in the NCAA title game victory over Memphis, announced at a news conference on Wednesday afternoon that he has declared himself eligible for the NBA draft. He will not hire an agent, though, which allows him to return to school if he does not like his draft projection.

Last week, KU junior guard Brandon Rush and sophomore forward Darrell Arthur declared for the NBA draft. Arthur did not hire an agent, so he could return to Kansas as well.

Chalmers averaged 12.8 points per game this season.

I'm not sure if you're talking about jersey's but you realize Mario is his first name right? Anyway, rockchalk, let's see what Self can do.

This is a no brainer decision. He has absolutely nothing to lose, and everything to gain by declaring and not calling an agent. You can only declare one and come back not twice. And he's going to be a senior next year so this is a perfect scenario.

If he goes to draft camps and dazzles he's a first rounder. Even if he thinks it'll be boarderline he might come back to KU. This means nothing either way. The rule is there, Mario is smart for taking advantage of it. Best of luck either way

You can bet when he makes 80 mil over 10 years, he'll give back x1000 what he got.

You're kind of a dumbfrock.
