This is awesome -- nearly every single person out there has a different story on what KC wants to do. And every blurb here except one was written just a day before the draft.

ABOUT DEFENSIVE ENDS:

Todd McShay:

DE Chris Long (http://insider.espn.go.com/nfldraft/draft/tracker/player?draftyear=2008&id=11845) will be the Chiefs' pick if he's available, but should he be off the board, Kansas City will want to retreat.

Peter King:

If Chris Long is available at No. 5, I expect the Jets and Patriots to make inquiries with the Chiefs (and I'm sure it's been done already) to acquire the fifth pick.

Don Banks:

Herm Edwards is enamored with Gholston's impact potential

Jay Glazer immediately after the Allen trade:

Now that Allen is gone, look for the Chiefs to aim for Ohio State defensive end Vernon Gholston

Jay Glazer on Friday:

They are hoping that Chris Long drops down to this spot

Mel Kiper:

Based on what my sources have told me, I have the Chiefs selecting Florida defensive end Derrick Harvey at No. 5.

ABOUT OFFENSIVE LINEMEN

Jay Glazer:

has KC taking Branden Albert at #5

Rich Gosselin:

has KC taking Chris Williams at #5

Peter King:

says KC may trade up with Buffalo if Ryan Clady is there

Todd McShay:

has KC taking Jeff Otah at #17

Deep Purple reference? Its hard to think of a band from that era that is shittier than Rush but you easily found it.

I really hope todays comments from the lead draftnicks are off.
