Depends on how the 1st 4 picks pan out. If Dorsey or Long falls to us, don't even consider it. Otherwise, I'd think about it.

Ask for their 2nd round pick as well. Take it and draft BPA.

Tell 'em to throw in their '09 first-rounder or f**k off.

Haven't we discussed this 100 times already? It would take both the Cowgirls 1sts plus their 2nd or their 1st next year for equal value. Even then I wouldn't do it. We need to get a top-5 or at least top-10 guy.

Add a 2 next year and maybe we start talking...

No, I wouldn't want to trade ourselves out of the top 8 or 9 picks.

No way in hell do I take the Cowboys 2 1sts for our 5th.

Draft Value for #5 - 1700

Draft Value for 22 + 28 - 1440

Draft Value for 22 + 28 + 61 - 1732

Even if they offered their 2 firsts AND their second... I still would not make that trade.

No way.... no how.

Now..... 2 1sts and Terrence Newman and we might have a deal.

Sorry if I offended your sensibilities asking this question...unfortunately for me I don't live on this board, so I might ask a question already in queue. I will try to clear my questions with you from this point on to make sure that I don't offend you.

Unfortunately, we don't always live with "draft value" when we make our picks. I agree it doesn't equate with the perceived value but if Carl thinks he can pick up additional first round picks and drive down the $$'s he has to pay to sign them, wouldn't that even the value?

Not really... quality far trumps quantity. The salary cap is not really an issue for us this year so we might as well spend it on people who can start on Day 1.

Now, like I said before. If they want to throw Newman into the mix.... I might consider talking. Especially since Law is gone (thank god) and Surtain is now having boxes of Metamucil delivered to 1 Arrowhead Drive.

Unfortunately you are not thinking with Carl's brain....you are thinking rationally. My concern is that Carl would jump at the chance to move down, take the extra picks, and pick up players he can sign to a lesser dollar.

That only works if he takes the saving and uses it to pick up someone who gets released later because of salary constraints of another team.

Do I want it to happen? No, because we need the pick to get a top-quality player for this team. But that is me and not Carl. Anyone thinking that this couldn't happen is kidding themselves....we have been shocked before,

You can't always go by the draft value chart. There are 6-7 elite prospects in this draft and the drop off after that is immense. Our pick is worth 2-300 more points than usual just based upon that.

I think most of the time the value chart gets kicked to the curb, unless some GM wants to justify his conservative picking.
