Chiefs are not 100% sold on Pollard??

Tribal Warfare

what about Cottom?

Cottam seems like he'll be an Eric Greene/ Jason Dunn type of player, people say he'll be a pass catching TE. KC got Michael Allen last year to fill the giant shoes of Gonzo

Looks to be a pretty promising player. Also, he goes after the legs when he tackles. That's a good trait.

Naw, he can't play the Cover 2. :D

You might want to re-size your sig before it gets re-sized for you.

I posted this in the main thread, but with the additions of Flowers and Morgan, it's obvious Herm is trying to bring in players that have some swagger and an attitude. These are guys that are going to come up and smack you in the mouth, then let you know about it.

I love it, this team needs an attitude and guys that will push back.

I just dont see what they were thinking we got pollard on page on the roster why not go DE or Guard?

Team is clearly going Best Player Available right now. Under that theory, I have no problem with Charles or Morgan who I could easily see as BPA. I just wish they had picked Doucet instead of a TE.

Dajuan Morgan is a explosive guy , kinda of like Ronde Barber when he breaks towards the ball . Solid against run support the kid will make a fool out of a QB if that QB misreads a play because of his instincts of always being around the ball.

Why was that easy int drop in the highlight? The one where the QB got his arm hit during the throw. :doh!:

If DBs have good hands they'd play WR

Maylock said he was the 2nd best safety on the board and could of sneaked in the 1st round and was projected in the 2nd round. Great pick Herm!

Also he had Brandon Flowers as the best CB in this draft. The TE i am still not liking but the Safety and the RB is two great picks. They are getting the best player available instead of reaching.

Because Bernard Pollard is not a starting NFL SS in a cover-2 defense. Page could be, but certainly didn't do anything to make his spot safe last year.

This was a good pick in a position of need. I was afraid that the front office would take your attitude regarding safety this year. "Well, we have young guys that started there last year, guess we're set." Which disregards that fact that the young safeties that started last year were extremely bad. Maybe they'll improve, but you odn't pass on a strong player like Morgan because someone might improve.

My opinion:

1- Jamaal Charles- very talented and slipped down the board. He'll spell Johnson and play some on 3rd down. Blazing speed. I like it.

2- Brad Cottam- I'm a Tennessee Fan (alum) and don't even like this pick much. This guy would've been around a round or two later I think. He's huge (6-7 270) and has good hands. He has the body to block, but has never been asked to play that role much. It could work out, but I thought one of the OL's here (Nicks, Collins) would be a better gamble.

3- Dajuan Morgan- this appears to be a good pick. He has great athleticism and plays with confidence. I think he'll take Pollard or Wesley's job by Week 6.

I am loving the idea of Morgan and Flowers in our defensive backfield. If Page can learn to play with better control and wrap up, this could be the start of something beautiful.

Not bashing you here, But I thought that is what Pollard was suppose to do?

Pollard was brought as the Chiefs designated punt blocker. It's one of those new-fangled "niche" positions.

Hard to smash someone in the mouth when you're chasing them from behind.

Pollard just can't cover. I'm surprised that a cover-2 coach drafted him as a safety at all. He can be an effective safety in a lot of schemes, but not ours.

Most of these picks will just have to wait and see in the 3rd round on but next time you play a highlight reel find one that doesnt have the worst sounding ringtone music available.

Great pick-the Chiefs are "pwning" all in the draft.
