Here's the rest of it:

Q: Talk about coming here to join a great running back in Larry Johnson.

CHARLES: “I’ll just come in and compete with Larry Johnson. I’ll push him and he’ll push me and we’ll make each other better. I know it will be exciting for me but I guess he would like somebody to push him, too. I’m glad I got picked by Kansas City because it’s not far from home and it’s a great place. I’m just ready to rock and roll.”

Q: Herm Edwards mentioned the possibility of having you return kicks as a way to get on the field faster. Talk about that opportunity for you.

CHARLES: “I can return kicks and I can get on the field and try to contribute. With my speed I can help the team a lot on special teams and I would love playing on kickoff returns so I can get on the field fast. I will try to help my team win by giving them great field position.”

Q: In the course of your career, how has your speed helped you stand out in situations like this where you might be in somewhat of a crowded situation?

CHARLES: “I can separate from people. Many people don’t think I can break tackles but I can break tackles. They just never saw me playing before. I’ve got good speed and can run around people and once I get open in a seam, I can always break for a long run when I get past the second level.”

Q: You had as many catches your senior year as you did leading up to that. Talk about how it all came together last year.

CHARLES: “It came together last year because I knew I was going to be the man, so in the first three games I was doing excellent. The other games I wasn’t getting the ball as much as I was before the three games I played. Then it came around in the Colorado game – I started getting the ball. I guess our coaches believed in what kind of player I was, that I’m a winner and love helping my team out and I don’t like to lose. I think they saw me and started giving me more carries because they knew I could help the team out.”

Q: Most people don’t think you’ll be able to handle a full load as the every down-type back. What do you think?

CHARLES: “That’s just people talking – they never saw me play. Maybe its people that have never played football that say I can’t carry the ball because I’m a speed guy but I love this sport, football, so I’ll do anything. I know I’m not the biggest person but don’t bring me down. I know what I can do; I know I can carry a load. I know I can help my team out.”

Q: Do you see yourself ever being a starter in the NFL?

CHARLES: “Yes, I can see myself being a starter. I know I can be a starter because of the things I can do on the field and I can help my team out and win games. You never know when that long run comes, and we need those long runs. I know I can start in the NFL because I can break the long run and help my team out.”

Q: The Chiefs have had some pretty good luck with Texas running backs. Do you know Priest Holmes?

CHARLES: “I saw him [play] but I don’t really know him, though. I saw him end his career with the Chiefs. I’m going to come up there and try to do the same thing Priest Holmes did.”

Q: Were you the fastest guy on your team at Texas last year?

CHARLES: “Yes, I was the fastest guy.”

Q: Could anyone catch you, coming from behind?

CHARLES: “No. When I get three steps on people, most don’t come from behind me. You have to have a good angle to catch me.”

Yeah, saw that. I was thinking son you have another thing coming if you think there is a compitition there. Maybe competing with Kolby Smith, but not LJ.

I like his confidence. We have drafted some guys that have alot of emotion and confidence. That is a great thing

I love it. I hope he brings that attitude to camp. I mean, don't get me wrong - beating out Larry "3.5 YPC" Johnson won't be easy for a guy like Charles, but there's no reason he shouldn't try.

Look how super human LJ was when he only spelled Priest. He had an insane ypc. If we can keep him fresh and only on the field for about 1/3 the snaps he could break a big one or two every week...

Doesn't seem complacent as a backup. I like it, he's got a good future with his mentality.

That's awesome that we're going to get him on the field in the return game. A guy with his speed needs the ball in his hands as much as possible.

If all he does is return kicks he's valuable. Or ruturn game and starting field position sucked balls last year...

Give Charles 100 carries and he ends up with 600 yards. The key will be staying in games long enough that we can afford to run the ball in the late parts of games. Give LJ 23 carries/game; Charles 9 and Smith 6.

How anyone can be down on this pick is beyond me.

We got a steal in Charles. I wouldn't say HB was a big need, but JC is a stud.

Oh, this guy is in for a rude awakening at the next level. He may be fast but he doesn't understand the abilities of the people who play in the NFL.

Haha, I like this interview. I think he could definitely be a 3rd down, change-of-pace back right now. If he does well enough, he might start getting equal carries with LJ... which would be hilarious.

Still, at 4.38, there aren't many people that will catch him from behind.

Oh, this guy is in for a rude awakening at the next level. He may be fast but he doesn't understand the abilities of the people who play in the NFL.

Two things:

(1) The question asks about HIS TEXAS TEAMMATES catching him. He answered that they couldn't.

(2) Charles is a WORLD CLASS sprinter. Throw that 40 out of the window, this guy might be the fastest cat in the draft. There isn't a defensive player in the NFL who would stand a chance of catching Charles if he's got a couple of yards and full steam ahead.

This is why the Chiefs drafted Charles:

Not one offensive player on the Chiefs has that type of gamebreaking ability. Not one. Bowe, LJ and Gonzalez are all great, but none of them can house it from 75 yards in a matter of seconds.

This guy is a GAME-CHANGER.

And as we keep saying, HIGH-EFFORT, HIGH-CHARACTER guys. Would LJ do this?

86-yard TD run. What's LJ's longest, 56? Outta nothing, too.

This is the last video I'll post, and the thing you take out of each video is this: if Charles ever gets in space, it's OVER.

Too bad he can't block on third down.

According to who?

I saw him throw his body around a few times in TX. Just because he wasn't asked to in college, doesn't mean he can't.

I don't understand why Felix Jones went in the early 20s and this kid lasted to the 3rd. He's a very good player.

That'd be a fine role for him. And Franklin should be the PR. Or perhaps this lightning-quick small-school CB kid.

Goat...I would expect you to know more about Charles considering where he's from. The Chiefs got a steal of steals on this guy. He's a tough kid, and he's a home run hitter. The video verifies my memories of Charles, in both high school and college. The kid has silly speed (fastest player on the Texas roster...that's saying something).

Checked out his NFL.com Q & A... we have to unbrainwash him

Growing up, who was your favorite NFL player and why?
My favorite NFL player was John Elway because of his passion for the game and his ability to lead his team to victories despite the obstacles he faced.

He needs to have been a fan of Grbac :)
