Perhaps we should pick him up for our 6th rounder? Wasn't he listed as some to be a 2nd or 3rd rounder?

if he was projected as a 2nd or 3rd, and has fallen at least to the 6th, there's obviously something wrong with him.

8. CARL NICKS, Nebraska (6-5, 341, 5.22, 2-5) - Described by Polian as "more of a road-grader type," Nicks has been to three schools and started at LT for one season only at Nebraska. "Whatever you can get, that's what he's got," one scout said. "He's lazy. Malcontent. Resistant to authority. Criminality. Divorced with kids. He transferred. Anything you would not want a guy to have, he has it all. Talented, but a mess." The best tackle at the Senior Bowl. "If he were Williams personality-wise or Long, he might be the best of them all other than Long," another scout said. Scored 18 on the Wonderlic. "He is talented, dude, but we're not going to touch him," a third scout said. "He's too smart for his own britches. He's not a professional. He'll always be on the edge."

sounds like the kind of guy that would get 2 DUIs, wear a Tux-T to an awards banquet, then go and kill his family and the pizza delivery guy because his pie showed up at 31 minutes.

Not worth it. The NFL might just threaten him with a year suspension even before he signs a contract with the Chiefs.

I say give him a shot. If his talent is that good and his character that bad, he may grow up surrounded by Herm's high-character squad. Send him to me, I'll square him away.

I say pick him, and then have Dorsey punch him in the face and say "You're taking my lead, buddy."

And then Nicks would say "I'm not your buddy, guy..."

And so on.

That's probably the best way to go for the Chiefs. Not worth a pick on, IMHO.

I say he gets drafted, but his attitude cost him some real money from what I've read

I say a 6th for an unmotivated talented LT isn't bad

I don't know who wrote that stuff but it's all made up.ROFLROFL
I saw where the Vikings stole Zac Bowman though.
I think the only knock on Nicks is from where he just got in trouble with the law at a party last month. Even though the charges were dropped.

Yet, he didn't show up to the meetings and Bo had to suspend him, and eventually dismiss him off of the team.

Uh he was a senior last year. He's not playing for the Huskers. He was barred from the Huskers pro day since he was ticketed for failing to disperse from a party. Which was dropped. Bo made him an example because he was bringing the hammer down.
Anyway the Saints just got their next Roaf.

Overview

Barry Richardson is a massive drive blocker, but his teammates viewed him as the "silent giant," letting his play on the field do the talking. A highly intelligent athlete, he graduated from high school after only three years and then took just a little over three years to earn his degree at Clemson.

Richardson earned All-Atlantic Coast Conference first-team honors the last two seasons, become the school's first offensive tackle to repeat those honors Jim Bundren (1996-97).

Thrust into the lineup as a freshman, he started 45-of-49 games in which he appeared for the Tigers. In 2004, he became Clemson's first first-year freshman to start for the course of a season on the offensive line since 1943. He was also the first first-year fresh-man offensive lineman to start more than one game in a season since Joe Bostic (1975).

At Wando High School, Richardson excelled on the football field and in the classroom, as he became the first Clemson signee to ever graduate after three years. He started all three seasons for head coach Bob Hayes. The offensive tackle graded 85% for blocking consistency, as he registered 31 knockdown blocks during his final prep season.

As a true freshman at Clemson in 2004, Richardson started the team's last seven games. He delivered 19 knockdowns, including two that resulted in touchdowns from the left tackle position. He registered 47 knockdowns as a sophomore in 2005, as he was part of a front wall that gave up 23 sacks on 377 pass plays.

In 2006, the All-Atlantic Coast Conference first-team selection appeared in 684 snaps. He led the Tiger linemen with 75 knockdowns, as that unit gave up only 15 sacks. He also collected an assisted tackle. Richardson again garnered All-ACC first-team accolades as a senior. He had the highest blocking-consistency grade in the conference during the regular season (86.67%) while registering 57 knockdowns on 814 plays.

Career Notes

Richardson produced 200 knockdown blocks in 49 games at Clemson...During his last two seasons, he graded 84.75% for blocking consistency as a junior and had the highest grade of any Atlantic Coast Conference lineman in 2007, attaining an 86.67% average.

High School

Attended Wando (Mount Pleasant, S.C.) High School, playing football for head coach Bob Hayes...Excelled on the football field and in the classroom, as he became the first Clemson signee to ever graduate after three years...Started all three seasons...Graded 85% for blocking consistency, as he registered 31 knockdown blocks during his final prep season.

SHIT

http://www.profootballweekly.com/PFW/The+Way+We+Hear+It/Audibles/2008/audibles2309.htm

The most physically gifted (offensive) lineman in the draft was (Carl) Nicks. There is no doubt in my mind. If he straightens out, he will be a Pro Bowler as long as he wants to be. And I’ve heard he is moving people for (the Saints) when he lines up with the ones.
