Is there any chance we can try turning the real "Search" feature back on, now....that the draft is over.

Anyone else, agree?

Seriously, during the draft....and now Ari's thread on stevieray.....I guess I didn't realize how much I used it....damn, it's frustrating not being able to search for stuff you want to post, or to recall.

If it ends up bogging down the server, we can always turn it back off....what do you think?

I was thinking the searchable column needed re-indexing (or index rebuild)
would cause outage. ?

Though I'm not a MySQL expert.

The way I understood the situation, I think it's not a good idea. Basically anytime anyone searched, it froze up the entire CP site for several minutes. Until Kyle can index the database, it cannot be resolved.

It would be really cool if Google would add a site-specific search function.

Go to google.com, or use the google searchbox in Firefox.

site:Chiefsplanet.com followed by your search term.

Go to google.com, or use the google searchbox in Firefox.

site:Chiefsplanet.com followed by your search term.

Or, you could click search and enter the search parameters after the conveniently already placed site:Chiefsplanet.com text.

It doesn't work the same way....the advanced search....which you could include parameters for the search, is gold when it works. Of course, you knew that....

Why get rid of the tags? Yeah, they don't serve any purpose other than entertainment, but neither does rep. This is lame.

I think a mod turned them off. :(

Yeah, I know it sucks not having it. In theory, Kyle's going to get to it soon, but who knows for sure.

I wish that the programmers had at least separated the true search and the other search-related features like "view all posts by this user." I wish we could turn those on without turning the entire thing on.
