Apparently he was only 3/11 for field goals in his sophomore season. He hasn't missed one since. Been perfect for two years.

Here's a news story from that time

Nobody else finds this guy to be a great kicker prospect like I do?

he should give the old kickers a run for the money

I think he's got as good a shot as anybody, but they don't mention a couple very important factors: distance, and weather.

Now North Carolina's in the ACC, so if he's perfect, that means he's kicking through some inconsistent weather and I'm satisfied. But I know virtually nothing about how far any of his kicks have been. I imagine that's as important a factor as anything.

Good luck to him. He's right about one thing: it's 90 percent mental, 10 percent physical.

seems like he's a student of the game so that's good.

I'll be interested to see how he does this next season.

This guy has missed some extra points(2) this last season. His missed field goals(2) have been from 50+.

Novak Vs Cundiff Vs Barth

My bet is on Cundiff, followed by Barth... goodbye Novak

I think he's got the best shot of all the UDFA's to make the team.
A healthy Billy Cundiff will be stiff competition for him, but that's a smaller hill to climb than what his UDFA counterparts will have in front of them.

probably not relevant, but he was well-liked among team-mates, not always a trait associated w/kickers--worth noting for what Herm's trying to build there...I know/I know--long as he makes mofo fg's.

I hope they go with this guy, this is how you get a good kicker, sign one and then just go with him..

The Pats used that approach with Vinatieri.
